I need a chunky round neck jumper that can go in the washing machine and doesn't bobble up.

The amount my barbour jumper has shed I could probably make another one.

Nothing that crackles when you take it off please.

All jumpers go bobbly, unfortunately. But due to having a wife who knows about such things, what you need is one of these… a de-bobbler

Asphalte.  Not Chunky, but a fantastically versatile jumper:

https://www.asphalte.com/en-US/h/products/the-perfect-jumper

You'll have to be patient as they're only made in batches to order, or a bit more expensive ex-stock.  100% Merino and extremely well made.  It's one of those products that feels like "Why am I spending this much on boring jumper?", then when it arrives you think "I'm glad I spent the money".

Oddly or not I was watching a youtube video on why modern  clothes does this and older clothes didn’t so much.

it’s all around Fast Fashion and making cheapo stuff, they were saying that back in the day you’d pay more and the materials weren’t scrimped on but you’d buy far less clothing, there also wasn’t the rapid turnover of fashion  then as getting it from the catwalk took more time whereas now it can be done rapidly and in batches.

That asphalte jumper is indeed not chunky. If that's the budget range tho then I would start with Peregrine -

and maybe Finisterre -

Asphalte jumpers always look a bit middle of the road to me

Not that chunky but I’m sitting in a two/three year old cotton knit jumper that still shows zero bobbling. Despite it having been worn enough to be a very different colour to new. Think the current version would be this one:

Debobbling things is one of my favourite chores. Cushions, jumpers, cardigans, coats. I find it very relaxing. I'm old aren't I?

I think they’re all much of a muchness. There’s loads on Amazon. All USB rechargeable.

I guarantee that when you get one you’ll be de-bobbling everything in sight 😀

So true

Ive had the Philips one since 2018 (according to Amazon):

Philips Fabric Shaver GC026/00, Blue

Was debobbling a pair of slippers and a beanie with it today. My daughter has now borrowed it for her fleece
