Virgin are stopping flying to st Lucia. Will have to stock up on ba miles
What's the best non Amex card to get points?
most big purchases (which actually earn decent points) can be done on amex - but is there any point? its 50,000 avios plus £350 fees vs about £550 to buy it separately. I guess it depends how much you're planning to spend for an earn rate of 2points/£1
either way, if you want BA, the posh amex card is the best as it gives you a free companion voucher once a year (means someone can fly with you completely free)
We have a BA Amex card but our suppliers don't take it. We buy as much as we can for the shop on credit card so do amass quite a few airmiles.
might be worth asking your suppliers to take it (or phone amex and ask them to reach out to your supplier). I don't think any other UK cards offer earning avios - I guess you could pick up an IHG mastercard and transfer all the points you earn over to avios (but I imagine the rate will be pretty crap)
Not sure there are any cards other than Amex to collect points on.

I get mine via SSE and Tesco. Just a drip feed. Vast bulk of what I got was years ago when they were much bigger rewards from shops, but even then the miles are now devalued anyway. Also some BA miles from BA flights but those expire before I have a chance of doing another BA flight.

You do with both of them, but you have to spend £20k on the basic one and £10k (IIRC) on the posh one. The posh one is £195 a year though.
