Is there a limit to how much noise you can make whilst having a new kitchen or whatever?

Just curious. The flat above ours is having some work done and it's absolutely bonkers loud. Mrs Grips just phoned me to ask something and I could tell she was having to shout over the noise. Now I know that regulations are probably different in Germany, and I've really got no idea if I can complain or not, but I'm just curious what would happen in the UK. I mean if the work needs doing then it needs doing, but you can't drive people out of their houses with it, can you?

There are legal limits to the amount of noise you can expose people to, whether they be employees or members of the public.

There are a number of different levels for both daily, weekly and peak expsoure limits in the UK.

Certainly in the UK i'd expect a company to have completed a noise assessment before starting work, its most likely the same in Germany
