ASUS monitor several years old.
Work laptop software updated yesterday and today my monitor displays a no HDMI signal message.
I've plugged it into my PS4 and the screen changes to a black screen suggesting activity but then nothing subsequent appears onscreen.
I've tried factory reset to no avail.
Any tips?
Try a different cable.
I have had the same happen a couple of times with my work laptop and external monitor.
I phoned our IT helpdesk and they explained that it can happen sometimes when they update their policies.
I had to go and sit outside one of our supermarkets, pick up the corporate wifi and the IT guys updated the policies and everything was okay after that.
Thanks both 👍
Yeah hdmi cable I recon
It's weird as the PS4 gets something out of the monitor, albeit a sort of blank dark screen whereas laptop gets no HDMI signal.
It's about 4 years old - is that normal? Appreciate they're not built to last forever.
What Drac said.
HDMI is a 'secure' connection, it's not simply video in ➡ video out. If the cable's on the wonk and it can't negotiate communication then Computer Says No.
Cable direction wrong way?
