Don't get me wrong, they are marginally better when hot with your roast, but then they don't count as 'snacks'. Nowt better to snack on of a Sunday evening, than a cold home made roaster left over from lunch. And again on Monday, probably sliced in a sandwich with some cold beef, a dab of horseradish and some salt and black pepper. A cold Yorkshire too? Ooh go on then. People who don't like cold roasters are wrong uns and not to be trusted.
TRUTH.
Dipped in gravy?
I can see I am amongst brethren👍
Also make a very fine pizza topping when sliced.
Cold roastie with a smear of marmite (or Bovril at a push 🙂)
Nom
Cold roastie with a smear of marmite
I sometimes coat them with a little marmite mixed with oil before cooking. Never tried it afterwards. Give me a minute......
😄 Now I'm annoyed I haven't got any cold roasties!
I never have any cold roasties!
We never have left over roasties or yorkies 🤣
But if you do happen to have cold yorkies left over they're ace with butter and jam on 😋😋😋

I always make way more than I need for this reason. Think how many you need for your roast and everyone having seconds. Double it. Double it again.

I'd be willing to try that but I prefer a savoury version. Cold yorkie sliced horizontally with a slice of beef in the middle to make a mini sandwich. Perhaps with a smear of Tracklements strong English mustard.
oh god it's a waffle mix moment
Now, I am not disagreeing about how good a cold toastie is.
But until all the sausages have been cooked and eaten cold from the fridge. The cold roasty is a solid second.
I have very fond memories of scoffing cold roasties as a bar snack in a pub near Cheddar Gorge years ago.
My mum makes the best roasties ever. When she comes to ours for Christmas dinner I always have her bring a tray of her roasties, making sure she knows to do about twice as many as she thinks we need so there's loads of cold ones for later.
But until all the sausages have been cooked and eaten cold from the fridge. The cold roasty is a solid second.
Cold sausages now is it? 🤔 There is some merit in what you say. Damn you for sowing a seed of doubt into my argument.
I never have any cold roasties!
It's an alien concept in the morecash household too.
Now, as we've got thread drift already, what cold "roast" meat is best for snacking on out the fridge? I always thought I was a cold pork man, but todays lamb is proving incredibly hard to ignore...
Pork, crackling and apple sauce.
Dipped in gravy?
Having just eaten a load of cold roasties dipped in this stuff, you really need to get some
You can thank me later

Cold roast spuds with chopped fresh chillies, that's my Sunday evening snack
Deep fried roast potato.
Reminds me, I saw that the chippy in Gourdon, up the coast from us is doing deep fried pigs in blankets with baconaise sauce!!!
I hope to get up there before too long for a snifter.
For me it's not just roasties, but a mix of cold Yorkshires and roasties, with congealed full meat fat gravy.
My healthy living German wife, normally disparaging of English cuisine, demands that I cook at least 50% extra to fuel our Sunday night TV slob out
Leftovers
These were roasted in the beef drippings. Heavenly

Really?! They look barely out the ground!

heathen. They are local queen potatoes with a crispy outer skin and fluffy, pillow soft interiors.

you may be mistaking the adjacent buttered parsnips for an undercooked spud, but I can assure you they are not!

That's what I do too. But instead of leftovers, what I get from this is a near death experience
I've gotten through the working from home day today on about 20 cold roast potatoes, dipped in the now almost jelly like cold gravy.
With the week off work coming up I've got 8kg of potatoes on my tesco big shop order, it going to be immense
Refried potato salad is the bomb.💣
There was a sandwich place near here that used to sell roast potatoes (hot) in a tray . Combined with a mayo of choice ( my fav’s were sweet chilli or chipotle) they were the mutts nuts. They stopped doing them when they got took over ☹️
Cold? Are you insane?
Throw it in an air fryer for ten minutes, same with last nights chips.
I think the air fryer might be up there with the wheel, fire and internet in terms of significant human inventions...
I'll be having plenty of hot ones today and plenty of cold ones tomorrow. And the day after. And..... you get the picture.
Another vote for a cold sausage. Matron.
what cold “roast” meat is best for snacking on out the fridge?
Roast chicken. Get in my face.
Cold sausages are defacto the best.
None left ☹️ I did 40, thought that'd be enough + spares. Turns out not!
Should keep us going for a day or two

Sofaman why do you say us. I see a single portion of roasties there?
Just had a couple of cold roasties and pigs in blankets for breakfast.
It's a very rare occasion there are any left overs, but my wife made a bucket load with the in-laws coming 😁
Cold bacon sandwiches.....
