Hi, I seem to remember someone mentioned they’d used the Go Outdoors Nimbus 8 porch as a drive away awning with their van, but google fails me.
With the summer15 code off the £160 discount price they look a decent price.
It’s a Vito I have, not looking for a full camping set up as the van is not a camper conversion. However for a quick overnighter at a race or as a base for a day out with family and dogs I ‘think’ it would be good??
Has anyone any experience?
I've done something similar with this Decathlon inflatable tent it's bit more expensive though. I'm converting my van but have slept in that wth the kids and it worked really well. When the van is converted I'm going to use it as an extra room/bedroom.
Used our Decathlon awning (as above) last weekend. It was very good and kept the rain out.
Have the Decathlon one above and a Nimbus 8 porch.
Both work well in different ways
The Nimbus is going up for sale as the Decathlon one has the advantage of working with the 4.1XL tent too
@Tracey - is the Decathlon one robust? Would you recommend it?
Our 5yr old Decathlon Base 2-seconds is starting to show signs of wear and tear and I'm not convinced the springy bits will last another year
It's one of these

Ah. Looks like it may not be the best option ‘just because it’s cheap’ I’ll take a look at decathlon. Thanks everyone.
Feedback from Abigale is that its very robust. Bought some bigger pegs to hold it down for her as she had a bit of a panic one night when it was windy. All her mates seem to congregate in it rather than stay in their tents and cars. Easy to erect and put away. They never seem to be in any Decathlon sales and when we looked at them in France were cheaper to by here.
thanks Tracey
