Where would people recommend for a night out in york?

Got 2 nights staying in the center with a mate and could do with a good recommendation for pubs/clubs to try?

Olde Star Inn is good for a pint. I'll be drinking in there on Saturday night.
Krakatoa Restaurant on Tanner Row does great Indonesian food.

Depends on what sort of thing you want really ?

If you like Real Ale type places, you will hate Kennedy's
But if you like Lively Bars with music you will hate The Last Drop Inn.

Evil Eye on Stonegate - mad cocktails, huge queues sometimes

The Maltings just under Lendal Bridge - good real ales

Lamb and Lion on High Petergate - just good

Lendal Cellars - a different surrounding but can smell a bit

King's Arms on King's Staith - mainly for the great view over the river

The Hop seems to be the flavour of the month. Real ales and pizzas.

Or the great view from within the river potentially ?

(Not been in Town today, but it won't be far off)

One point, the police are a bit uptight 😀 I got arrested and spent a night in the cells on my stag do. My mates stripped me at the end of the night, the gits (the police) wouldn't let me put my clothes back on (my mates were trying to give them back to me).

All the more fun...

(Google fails me in finding a shot of a man canoeing through the pub).

Banyan Bar, 1331, Evil Eye, House of Trembling Madness, Pivni to name a few. Clubs in York aren't great, we tend to end up in the Stone Roses Bar.

Kennedy's is awful and I'm not a real ale type. Go through the door to left of it and downstairs is a cool little bar though.

For clubs it has to be the one and only The Gallery. Rumour has it that a single bloke once didn't pull in there.

Agreed (I was being kind about the real ale types not liking it really, I'm not how anyone can 🙂 )

Agreed again. Can't remember the name though ?

Yeah, that was me.

It's now called Kuda but pulling is still compulsory!

I hate pubs with loud dance music and prefer real ale (showing my age). Last time I was in York did a few pubs around High Petergate - Lamb and Lion, Three Legged Mare, Guy Fawkes Inn - beer was excellent in all of them and decent live music in the Three Legged Mare.
