My Discovery has eaten it's own gearbox and is not worth the repir cost due to other issues. I'm lucky enough to have wealthy in-laws who have gifted me and my wife 10k to replace it.
We had been talking about buying a van to fit a removable camper interior to, so it could be used for my work during the week lugging stuff and people around then as a day van/camper to replace our trailer tent.
or, buying a newer Landy, so late model TD5 Disco or TD4 Freelaander and replacing the hairy old trailer tent with a slicker operating, much newer one.

Very much a first world problem and I know it looks like willy waving posting this but I really am not sure which avenue to take as I've never had that sort of money to spend on a car before! What would you buy?

Do you need the 4x4ness? I assume not as you're also considering a van (unless that was 4x4 too..!).

4x4 is handy for one of my work sites and is the main thing stopping me just going straight for a van.

Pickup with a removable camper? They are a bit crap though, might as well get a caravan.
