We have a week off next month and I'm thinking of a relaxing few days in Norfolk, in the Broards area. We'd take bikes and pootle round between tea shops and pubs, snooze under trees, read books, visit historical places, that sort of thing
Anyone know of a nice quiet campsite with nice faclities?
Ta in advance. 🙂
Haven't stayed there myself, but this is my mates:

Might be a bit far out, but should be quiet.
Plus he's a good rider (or used to be), so might recommend some routes for you.
Edit: it's not officially open but he is accepting people
Kelling Heath has some good riding nearby
We stopped at the CCC Thetford Forest one last year - in a camping pod
nice site right on the edge of the forest with plenty of pubs to cycle to
Can't see anywhere being that quiet in August though
We stayed here http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=2356 earlier in the year, not sure how busy they will be this time of year, but walking distance to the river and thats walking with an open canoe, if they arent to busy, ask to stay on the overflow field, if you want extra peace

This place is lovely, the tent area is pretty seperate from the caravans with big vans in yet another area. On site pub and a easy ride to the coast. Facilities are the best that I've come across in the UK.
We stayed at Dower House about a month ago. It was a really nice site, but a bit in the middle of nowhere. It is about 20 mins from the parking at Brandon if you wanted to do tome cycling at Thetford.
But, if you look at tourist stuff in Norfolk, most of it is based around the coast and not as far inland as Thetford - so it was a fair drive to get to anything, really.
There's a pool (heated, I think) on site & plenty of local walks - there is also a bar that does basic meals too.
I saw some reviews complaining of tons of wasps, but I didn't experience any of that - perhaps too early in the season. There was however tons to wildlife to sit & watch, particularly birds.
I have heard good things about Keeling Heath, but you generally need to book well in advance.
We have stayed at Woodhill Park before, near Cromer & that was a nice site, although a bit windy.
