Replace the battery in your current phone or wait until Oct/Nov when there should be a new Nexus 5 out

if you can't wait, then get a refurb nexus5 or LG G4. otherwise, wait for the 2015 nexus5.
that's what i'm doing (although my current nexus5 isn't dead yet!)

+1 for one plus...one...

Very happy since switching from a nexus, think they are available on general sale now for £179.

Thanks for all the answers. I had assumed (incorrectly) the nexus 6 was the new 5.

I was looking at a potential replacement for my Nexus 5, and I think the Oneplus One would fit the bill. Just don't know if it is a little big. I like the size of the Nexus 5, great phone (when it doesn't battery drain).

from what i can see of the oneplus one, the UK version will only support 4G on EE due to the band the hardware uses, with no firmware/software fix for this. if that's true, then i'd swerve it.
