Getting a couple of new tyres from local independent . Been going to him for years as he's always been trustworthy with his advice . Ordering me a couple of Nexen , I've heard of them before , had a good reputation but searching some of the big players and they don't feature ? Should that concern me ? Around 7K a year Focus Estate 18"s btw .About £170 for the pair sort of mid range I'm guessing .
I had Nexen Rodian tyres on a 4x4 ages ago (Hyundai Terracan)
They were by far the worst tyres I have ever used and that includes some super cheap Autogrips I once bought for £36 each. It was like driving on ice. On the plus side they are probably still being used somewhere as the rubber was so hard it was indestructible, so from an eco perspective they are 5 star!
I would avoid.
We have some of their all season tyres on the Qashqai and they're fine. They wear out pretty quick but then they are all season. Get some.
I've got some on my Mondeo. They're fine, no better or worse than the Goodyear that were on it from new but only 2/3 the price. If they wear quicker I'll replace with similar mid-range tyres.
I used them a few years back on a Saab and found them to be very good for the price.
I've just bought a pair of their winter tyres for the mrs' car , seem good and grippy so far , the guy who fitted them said they are great quality and perfectly round so needed no weights for balancing !!
Yep seem fine, I've got winters on the front and the n8000 on the back, n8000 get good reviews and we're super cheap at 77 for a pair of 225 45 17 (eBay so add 24 for fitting)
Had some on the current car when I bought it. Got winters on now, and I'm rarely impressed by tyres, but they seemed pretty good. Though I'm not sure how much that is the car. Definitely had worse. However, they do seem to have worn a lot (again, not sure how much the car contributes to that)
Had a number of pairs of them on our cars over the last few years. Like some of the other mid range stuff not as grippy as some nice sporty premium rubber or as efficient as the rock hard eco tyres.
The versions we had were pretty ok and when on my car they'd see 20k of driving in a year in all kinds of (mostly Southern) weather.
IMO perfectly acceptable if you don't drive like a loon. If you do get something grippier (or stop driving like a loon).
The other mid brand we used a fair few of was Hankook. I ran quite a few 205/50/17 Hankooks and I probably had a bit of a preference for those.
