I've been quoted between £1500-1700 for installation of a new Glow-Worm Easicom boiler (24W or 28W).
Does that sound reasonable?
Thanks
I've just paid £3200 for the supplying and installation of a Ideal Vogue Max 32w, not sure if this helps, this quote was fairly middle of the road, had one quote lots higher but several around that price point, have you had more than one quote?
I paid £1850 for an Ideal Logic+ and new particle trap (I think 24kw) about 2 years ago. It came with mechanical clock - I bought and plumber fitted a proper 7 day wireless one that cost me £20.
They refused to fit an external temp sensor (£20 also), so this was done a few months afterwards. Well worth the money, the boiler is much better at responding to external temp changes.
They also ran a 3m external condensate drain on a North wall that was uninsulated. It froze solid the moment we had a frost. I installed an inspection hatch just where it emerges from wall, to facilitate defrosting in future, and wrapped the whole thing in insulation. Not a problem since.
I guess I got what I paid for, but do be aware of these things.
That's not bad to be fair and I don't often say that on here. Especially if it includes wireless stat and magna clean, which might be worth trying to ask out if not. Not sure whether the magna clean is required to get the extended warranties some manufacturers offer. The plumbers on here will know more.
32kw Ideal Vogue and 2 rads was £2200 2 years ago. 10 year warranty, it's been ace so far, touch wood.
