Were just outside Cambridge which is about an hour and a half south of Auckland . It was pretty wild last night , it had been raining all day but about 11 pm the wind picked up and it was pretty wild . Its a lot worse on the coast and looks like quite a few homes and roads have been washed away in land slides .
We only moved here 10 weeks ago and we have had a pretty wet summer by NZ standards , not by our Scottish standards : ) 2 cyclones and 2 earthquakes , it is lovely here when its not pissing it down though 🙂

My brother and family moved into their spare room, which is under the hillside house they own in west Auckland, midway through the night.
they they could hear debris hitting the house and windows.
No real damage to thier house, but lots of neighbours with minor damage.
Sadly further afield with much more damage. Hot on the heels of last week's flooding too.
I hope Scott Brown is okay.
