Are you in or are you out?

Personally I'm out as I couldn't stand being in and can't wait to get the season over with and get back some routine in my life.

I'm doing a short DJ set in a local pub then I'll be off to the Cider Bar for a few whilst Mrs slowbloke looks after horses for the firework bit around midnight.

Pizza and film night with the kids.

Then once kids are in bed, probably some combination of Hootenanny, Amazon Prime and sexual intercourse.

Full of cold, so doubt I'll be going anywhere. Which suits me just fine as NYE is always the biggest anti climax ever!

Yeah, you can get a reputation for being a 70's DJ for that kinda behaviour..^^ 😉

Me?

I've had a last minute invite to the Club, not going though.. I'm staying in, I'll watch Joules if he's on TV. No humbugs here, I'm out early Surfing in the morning.. 😀

Visiting friends this arvo, then home to watch the Still Game special I recorded last night - perhaps with a beer.

In bed by 10.30 hopefully.

In. Definitely in. No queues at my bar and clean toilets.

Being with the general public is bad enough but when they're shitfaced...

Out, then in.
Out for a curry at 8pm (restaurant is closing, owners retiring so last ever visit) then home for a glass of something bubbly whilst I launch my stock of leftover fireworks from Bonfire night.

In.

Working earlies tomorrow, dealing with the dregs of society who can't behave themselves. I'll be on double time plus a free rest day as compensation, so not too onerous.

I'll aim to be in bed by about 9.30 this evening.

Bed about 9.00 as usual, if not earlier. Then no doubt wake up at midnight when all the fireworks go off in the grounds of the big house next door. Back to sleep and up at 8.00 ready for the club ride. Yep, my life is pretty well sh1t at the moment and l cannot see any improvement coming in 2017!

Out, making water at around 35te per hour. Maybe even up to 70 depending on what's been happening in the preceding 16 hours. Almost giddy with excitement just thinking about it.

Been out for a ride. Stopped for a couple of beers at a couple of pubs. Chilli and the rest of our remaining Belgium beers while listening to some oldskool tunes. 😀
Can't be doing with all the shite music and ****ers in the local pubs.

Fireworks going off already round here . 1830 happy new year. All the dog owners who wait till its proper dark to avoid picking up turds will be ranting on bookface in 15 mins.
Chicken Kebab and chips , then bed as depression is causing me sleep deprivation from approx 0200 every night which is a vicious cycle of tiredness and irratability.
I need sunshine.

We're off to some friends' house tonight, but coming back by 11.30 so that the dog isn't on her own for the firework frenzy (when did that become a thing, anyway?)

Suits me getting back before midnight. I never feel jolly at New Years anyway - my mind has already started thinking about work

I hate New Year parties, almost as much as themed fancy dress parties.

We have been invited to a friend's 80's themed New Years Eve party 👿

I'm wondering if I can wiggle out of it by playing the "stinking cold" card. Though I did go out for a towpath pootle this afternoon with another mate who is going, so that may be tricky. And my wife has already lectured me about appearing socially inept if I don't go. But my friends know I am, so I figure I have nothing to lose except brownie points.

Went out on the MTB earlier then came back home and couldn't be bothered to cook so went to the chippie 😀

Not going to a party tonight (not my thing these days) so will chill out on the sofa watching a film. I'll look out of the window to watch the fireworks then go to bed and have a lie in. Bliss 8)

dropping the first one about 9 with a couple of brandies & a joint to bring it up. Taxi straight to the club, start in the breaks room. drop the 2nd with a wrap back of 11 and stay in the house room for the midnight tune & beyond. The live PA usually on about 12.15am. Probably another about 1ish if I'm flagging, back to the breaks room for the rest of the night, then leave about 4. Shit tele & joints galore slumped on the sofa with lots of friends ALL day, fall asleep about 1pm.

Woops sorry, I was dreaming of when I was 25 🙁
We've saved Charlie Brooker to watch, couple of Stellas & some pistachio nuts. bed for half 10 as we have a 7 month old. 😐

A spot of Airfix in blissful silence.
Put the kids to bed.
Cheese board and champagne with the missus whilst watching the Agatha Christie thing that she has recorded.
Fall asleep and dribble a bit.
Hope and pray that The Reaper tops his year with Farage.
Bed.

I can't stand the thought of being out there now. I've been filling gaps in loft insulation with expanding foam, going online to buy a toddler mattress then sitting and watching a film with wife and should be in bed by 11. Feeling good and chirpy for my in laws visiting tomorrow is far more important than spending the day feeling groggy 🙂

Really can't be doing with NYE at a pub these days, especially if you have to pay for the privilege of being shouted at by a bunch of drunk assholes that you've nothing in common with, so I'll be over my best mates as usual, watch a film of some sort, accompanied by a beer, quality scotch, decent assorted nibbles, then Hootenanny and back home.

In...as does most of the town I live in. NYE isn't really seen as much of a thing here, everyone stays in to keep themselves for tomorrow, pubs will be 9 deep at the bar from 11 to 6ish, everyone goes out. Mate who owns a pub takes £15,000 on NYD alone ...

Nine til nine sleeping and walk in the woods will do for me.

I hate New Year always have. All that expectation to have a good time. You can Ram It™

Mrs M and I will relax with very good Gin and Whisky content in the knowledge that we won't be fighting for an overpriced drink at the bar or a double time taxi on the way home.

Update:

3 fireworks, from 3 different locations. So it seems like either folks around here are checking they actually work, or that they can only afford one. 😆

MrsBouy called to say she's playing Scabble with the Nephews for matchsticks, and the youngest is winning.

I've just watched O'brother where art thou' , which was really rather good. And I'm lined up to watch No Country for old Man at 10.. if I'm awake.

ahwiles.....Sounds like nye is very much 'a thing'"

Why did you miss out the important thing..."everyone stays in till tomorrow when pubs will be 9 deep..."
NYE is not a thing.
NYD, however, is a massive thing 🙂

Edit - Cant get the hang of the quote function ffs !

The missus and I are just back from watching a couple of fireworks displays from the top of a hill, fueled by mulled wine. Lovely clear skies, lots of stars, fireworks up and down the valley and it just started snowing when we got back down.
