Don't know why it didn't occur to me before but I've just managed to reproof all my Goretex Jackets using........ Juice Lubes frame juice..........!!!!

Turns out it is the same as Fabil Universal Waterproofer..... (Silicon based i mean)

My ten year old TNF Goretex now beads water like a demon.....!

No nasty residue either and breathability is not compromised!

If it's silicone based, can it be used for other things also? I may never have to go through the Waitrose checkout of embarrassment again......

Yup,

On a bit of an economy drive at the moment so can't afford a new jacket. Laundered jacket as per instructions and used Grangers XT ReProofer to try and rejuvenate the water repellent coating but it didn't work...... (jacket is very old so was a bit of a long shot!)

Did a bit of research and was recommended Fabsil Universal Proofer.....

Screwfix sell it and you can get no-name generic versions cheap on ebay....

Did a bit more research and realised that Frame juice was the same stuff....

Seems to work well.

Just sprayed it on to a dry jacket (same as using Fabsil), wiped off what little excess there was... let it air dry for a bit and then finished it off in the tumble dryer..... job done!
