Scart is analog and hdmi digital, so a new box would be in order, really.

If they have a sky subscription then I don't see why you should have to pay for a new box, kick off until they give you a free one as Scart is an ancient interface. Might be a time to review what package they are on too, as they might be getting robbed blind on that.

Push for a new box especially if the subscription is out of date.

No point having old SKY with current HD TV- it won't look good with a converter - that's a really old Sky box without a HDMI though.

It won't look good, SD on a HD TV. Especially if it's more than 37".

As others have said push for a new box.

As a stop gap, you could possibly use the component video connections. My Panasonic TV has a component video adaptor, to allow the 3 , red, green and blue cables to connect to a single jack plug. Better quality than scart, still not HDMI. However, as it's an analogue connection, will probably give better results than trying to convert it to a digital signal through a cheap convertor.

Does the sky box have component connections?

But like everyone else says, I'm not sure you'd want to.
