Does not count as the car was not driven whoever is the Stig this week and there was no intro by a pot bellied balding upper middle aged moaning egomainiac.
I thought they had to pass the speed bump test? That doesn't look like it would go over any speed bumps near me! 😀
Not quite a supercar though is it. Cant quite see that impressing anyone in Monaco.

Didn't know he posted on here.
Timix- the ultima GTR is a group C GTcar i.e. it races at le mans with the lister storms dodge vipers, mecerdes etc, It's also designed by Lee Noble, the chap who designs noble cars like the M12, so yes it is a super car.
It was also used by McClarren to test the F1 engine while they were working on the bodywork for their supercar. Woody 200 is correct it wouldn't pass the speed bump test which is why when the the old GTR got the fastest lap time on top gear a couple of years ago it was also taken off the lap time board.
Ultimas are ****in amazin cars and having been driven round a track in the older version they are truly pant poopingly quick. the old version would do 0-60 in 3.2 sec 0-100 in 6.9 and 0-180 in 13.4 seconds with top speed of over 220mph
british engineering and design is still some of the best in world, unfortunately we just build 'em ugly!

No it's not a Group C car. It's essentially a kit car, though you can buy one fully built from the factory too if you like (like a Caterham or a Westfield). It may borrow heavily from 1980's Group C cars on the styling front, but it was conceived as a road car. Yet to see one on the track at Le Mans personally, at least for the 24HR race anyway! Whether or not it's a Supercar is down to your personal interpretation... Exclusivity? Yes. Performance? Yes. Price? Yes/no (depending how much you spec it up). Explaining to people you've spent Ferrari Money (potentially) on a car you've built yourself though will kind of knock the cars cred, even if it will run rings round a Ferrari on performance terms!

Also not true. I believe you can drive one over a speed bump. Well, you can fully adjust the suspension for ride height as well as everything else anyway. The reason it is not on the Top Gear lap record board is because NONE of the laps in the Ultima have ever been performed by the Stig, for the Top Gear Show. Ultima have used their own test driver round the Dunsfold track on each occasion. Hence why the times don't qualify!

Totally depends on the engine spec, and the gearing. The Ultima GTR is essentially the same vehicle it has been for over a decade now, and intrinsically the same as the model before it too. You can put pretty much any spec of engine in though, so a bog standard 350cu Chevy with 300bhp is not going to be anywhere near as quick as the 720bhp unit in the version used to set unofficial records round the Top Gear Test Track. Top speed wise too, using the Porsche Gearbox that most Ultima's do, they struggle to acheive more than 180mph because of the gearing limitations. Unless they can make the engine rev beyond 7000rpm (difficult from a big pushrod V8), or source alternative gearing, most Ultima's are geared this way. So they get to about 180 VERY quickly, but won't go past.

THIS is the way to make an Ultima pass 200mph with ease[/url]. I suspect it would be a bit of an animal to drive, but there's no doubting the Twin Turbocharged Lexus V8 that revs to 8000rpm or more, and pushes out almost 1000bhp, is up to the challenge! 😉
MT - you forgot to include 'pretend northern'.
There's 'friction' between Top Gear and Ultima and that's why it has not appeared on the show. I seem to remember there being a disagreement on liabilities and paying to use the car.
Awesome performing car though. Not seen one racing at LM24 either but I've seen a few around the campsites and inside the track too. However, I'd expect better quality finish for the money - the interior of the two promo cars I saw at LM one year looked like they'd been nailed together by a blind chimp. Personally, I'd spend the money on an Audi R8 and an Ariel Atom.
At the end of that video it says "topp fart"!
Made me chuckle!

Ariel Atom
