I know waht I'm talking about and it's absolutely clear in my posts. But not to you apparently, Trailrat. The wells have not been left open, they have been closed using standard techniques and leak.

Not bad for someone who went to a Midlands secondary modern. However, I'm certain that I have the lowest pension of anyone on STW because I got to 42 and decided that the house husband/dad bit took priority. You might take the piss, Squirrelking, but I've succeeded by my own standards (which is what matters) in three countries/languages and speak a fourth. What you think, well, think it... .
I can't fly, they wouldn't let me because I'm colour blind.
So, to bring this back on topic, finally got the insurance money and after going round some more circles bought a ..... Nissan Leaf! Spent a bit more than I had hoped but wow, what an amazing piece of technology. Am less concerned now about the chademo charger than I was as will mostly be charging at home. Thanks all for your comments which really helped me come to this decision.
You very often see bubbles coming up around the sides of conductors on old , or even new wells, but that's usually shallow biogenic gas coming up a path of least resistance. Casing leaks are certainly real, but don't usually make it to surface.
The problem with abandoned fields, and wells , in countries with poor control is a whole different kettle of fish.
bought a ….. Nissan Leaf!
Nice, new or old one?
New Leaf was my favourite car when I was looking, it's pretty decent.
The new one. Managed to get the top spec Tekna version so really happy with that. Really wasn't very keen on the old version.
Nice. Yes, the old one had a far inferior battery system that didn't manage battery heat properly so degraded its batteries quickly.
follows with interest. Current ICE car has limited lifespan.
So far have had two EV test drives; Leaf (new) and e-2008.
Trouble is, finding a decent garage locally that has the sort of EV we might want is proving ... tricky.
Two offerings in that price range from Hyundai, you must have a dealership?
