I have a very old Rotel RA-820Bx2 running some original Mission Model 700 speakers all run from the phono out on the back of my iMac.
All works okay but both are stating to show their age.
Looking towards the budget end of the spectrum where do I start?
Is sub £200 doable for a duo thats not absolute poop?
How about a pair of active speakers and do away with the amp?

I run KRK Rokit 5's, KRK 10 sub and a Cambridge Audio Dac Magic Plus all from my mac with balanced cables and it sounds pretty good.
