You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
As there seems to be a lot of people who are really into their music, could I call on you all to help me discover what I could be potentially missing out on.
Rather than recommendations, can you list for me the last three albums you bought/ downloaded.
The last three I've purchased are:
Cosmo Jarvis - Cosmo Jarvis
The Young Knives - Ornaments From The Silver Arcade
Iron and Wine - Kiss Each Other Clean.
Thanking you all very muchly. 😀

65 - 20 Odd Years
[url=
- Mutter (finally got round to it after years on the "i should have a look at them" list)
White Lung - It's The Evil
The Chinese Man Records collections are on the priority list, but a touch expensive 'til the overtime picks up. (free download of their live magic here somewhere, can't seem to find it now.)
Yes, I can do that.
The Naked & Famous: 'Passive Me, Aggressive You' (great!)
**** Buttons: 'Tarot Sport' (TSY's recommendation) (takes a few listens, but v good so far)
Pixelord: 'Puzzles' (also great!)
I've also dl'ed some rubbish, but luckily the last 3 were great! 🙂
[edit]Pixelord is actually a 10 track EP cos half are mixes, so you can also have Antonionian (self titled). (Bit odd, so needs more listens)

This is poised to be the most unavoidable music of the summer if the NME have anything to do with it
Jesca Hoop
The Decemberists
Shugo Tokumaru
I added 5 records to spotify at the same time, so you can have them:
The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart - Belong
Hercules and Love Affair
Yuck
Beau and the Arrows - Bright Lights, Big City EP
The Vaccines - What did you expect from the vaccines?
K-S.H.E "Routes not routes"
Falty DL "You stand Uncertain"
DJ Kicks Wolf and Lamb vs Soulclap
I've preordered Metronomy too, and downloaded quite a few single tracks not from albums.
Natalia Kills - Perfectionist
Exist Trace - Twin Gate
That's the only 2 I've spent money on in a long while - I usually just use LastFM for my listening nowadays.
The Decemberists - The King is Dead (I'd probably like this even if it wasn't ace, which it is. Not as ace as Hazards of Love though)
The Tallest Man On Earth - Shallow Grave (took a few goes to get the Dylan-lite nasal voice out of the way, actually pretty good stuff)
Joan As Policewoman - The Deep Field (I like the first half, but overall it isn't my cuppatee)
Tame Impala are my fave rave at the mo. I downloaded a couple by Loch Lomond too, including the one which was on that Danny Macaskill film, I think they are excellent.
I tend to spotify mainly these days s tend to listen to individual songs as much as albums.
Anyway - recent listening
Retro - Velvet Underground and Nico
Listening to now - Bebel Gilberto
Lots of roots reggae - Mighty diamonds, Eek a Mouse, Ina Kamoze, Jimmy Cliff, Beres Hammond, Johnny Osborne, Dennis Brown
The that will not be blamed for nothing " now that's what I call steam punk" with the wax cylinder recording and instructions on how to make your own player.
Jean Baudin "transcend" amazing extended range bass (12 string) playing
Henry Purcell- Ten sonatas in four parts
Last three albums bought
Circulus - Lick The Tip Of An Envelope Yet To Be Sent
Amon Amarth - Surtur Rising
Electric Wizard - Black Masses
Albums?
Suburbs, Arcade Fire (haven't listned to it because i have been listening to...
The Big Roar, The Joy Formidable. Just brilliant. 😀
and
The Fool, Warpaint (girly, probably not gonna like that one)
Last three
S. Carey - All We Grow http://www.bbc.co.uk/music/reviews/z34z
Mogwai - Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will http://pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/15100-hardcore-will-never-die-but-you-will/
Radiohead - King of Limbs
My most recent three physical buys are:
Anna Calvi
The Dears Degeneration Street
The Wailin' Jennys Bright Morning Stars
One English, two Canadian.
I also downloaded the OST for Sucker Punch on my phone the other evening after seeing the film. Great soundtrack, and Emily Browning is a very good singer, too.
God is an Astronaut - Age of the fifth sun.
Brad - Best Friends
The Third Twin - Homemade (not a release as such)
The new Mogwai album mentioned above is brilliant too.
