30+ year old hi-fi / amp / tuner has died so it time for something new.

Wife wants dab / internet radio and the ability to plug in her 5 cd changer. I want Bluetooth and good sound as I have a lot of low end music which can easily sound muddy.

We also have a really good set of speakers which would be nice to use and portability would be handy too though neither of these is essential.

Was originally looking for some kind of cheap separates but fell down a rabbit hole and landed on something like the Roberts Stream 94i. It seems to tick all the boxes, especially with the line in and speaker out connection.

What else is out there that covers what we want but isn't audio nerd priced.

The Denon Ceol boxes are good. I had one without CD or DAB but you can have both now. Nice and small, do internet radio / Bluetooth / airplay and the like, sound good, can buy without speakers so use your own.

Denon have their HEOS (Sonos-a-like) multiroom system now and those can be part of that too.

DAB is not really necessary as that's all covered by internet streaming. Just ensure that you get something with presets so that you can programme in Mrs Podges favourites. Most streamer boxes will also allow you to run podcasts through them too and they'll do bluetooth/casting as necessary.

No idea of your budget or whether you use streaming services such as Spotify/tidal/quboz but if you do or plan to then the Cambridge Audio CXN v2 could satisfy all your needs/wants. Very happy with my set-up of CXN V2 & KRK active speakers & sub.

Easy to connect to your existing amplifier/speakers or go the whole hog and pair a decent set of active speakers to it and you have a very good system.

Massively over budget and the existing amp has died so can't connect it.

Pioneer, Kenwood, Yamaha Denon and Onkyo do some outstanding A/V amps with BT, Wifi, radio, for not stupid amounts of money. The Onkyo and Yamaha amps regularly swap places at the annual best of lists, and Sony pop up as well.
Check out this lot...

Consider a Yamaha R-S202D. DAB tuner., lovely amp and Bluetooth enabled.

Richer Sounds have a Yamaha which seems to offer exactly what you want (apart from the portability angle):

Rather than everybody shooting in the dark, why don’t you tell us a budget Mr Op?

You’ll get something for any budget although it might not be much good if it’s £4.57 from AliBaba.

I have the yamaha rn303d in the link above. Its great value for money. Its got loads of connections including optical for telly and dab / internet radio / streaming built in. Powerful too so should have no trouble powering your speakers. There are better sounding amps out there granted but for the price I am really happy with it
