Need some more space on my aio computer so I've bought a 1tb Evo 860 SSD to replace the almost full 250gb 850 evo which is being used as a secondary drive for software/games/dropbox docs. My OS runs off the primary 128gb m2.sata drive

The plug and play aspect is no problem and I'd be good to go if it were just files, but as there is installed software on the drive being replaced then what I don't understand is what I need to do to copy the existing data without having registry issues (at least I seem to remember something about registry being what points the OS to the software location for startup)
I have an external dock that I can use to get the data transfer done

No spare bays afaik, so I can't just add it in as an extra drive.
Any tips and software recommendations?

also, while I'm in there, any point in going from 12 to 16gb ram?

Macrium reflect, there's a free version of that that'll let you clone the drive. If I remember right.

I'll second Macrium Reflect, used it for replacing 30 or so HDD's to SSD's. Dead simple to use.

Hold on. How do I request this in a Glaswegian accent?
