Looking at one of these http://store.hp.com/UKStore/Merch/Product.aspx?id=P0H46EA&opt=ABU&sel=NTB, is there anything out there that I should be looking at for this sort of money?

Looks majorly slow to me, barely enough to surf the web. Plus the complexity of the detachable mechanism.... would it not be possible to spend more or lose that feature?

I've got one of these for work http://www8.hp.com/uk/en/products/laptops/product-detail.html?oid=7109448 and like the idea of laptop or tablet choice. Mainly it'll be used for watching films from external hard drive and surfing. A quick play at John Lewis today and it didn't seem too slow.

Windows 10 on an atom processor with 2gb of ram will be horrible.

You'd be better off getting a used laptop with an i5 processor off ebay.

HP can't make a normal laptop that doesn't need replacing after 3 months of use, so I'm not sure I'd trust them to make a convertible.
