genuine 3 seats

Do any of those cars you've listed have 3 seats in the back? Unless I'm misunderstanding your OP?

I've just gone through a similar process and bought a Vauxhall Zafira Tourer 1.4T petrol. Might be overkill for you though 🙂

None of those have 3 genuine as in separate seats in the back. They will seat 3 with seat belts but even the biggest (Fabia) would be uncomfortable with 3 adults.
I would buy the Fabia out of that choice
Would actually buy a Focus though.

Peugeot 208

I'd discount that straight off on the basis that it's a Peugeot (ex pug owner)

I have a 208 and a 2016 Fabia. The 208 is a posh spec one so it's not a direct comparison but it is a nicer place to sit (but mostly because ours has massive sports seats, lots of leather and a glass roof). The 208 is not as well built or as high quality, and the touchscreen isn't as good as that in the Fabia.

The Fabia is less entertaining to drive, but the 1.0MPI engine is mad economical for a petrol (1.0 non-turbo gives me 58mpg on the way to work, 53 on the way home). It's also bigger, and the boot is enormous. The 208 is wider, which does make the cabin more roomy. The Fabia has more room for rear passengers, though.

Both have cruise control, and speed limiters. The Fabia's is much easier to use though. Generally, the VAG stuff is much better thought out.

Either would be fine, but if driving quality is less important than practicality and things like a posher touch screen then I'd recommend the Fabia more.

Thought about a Citroen Cactus?

I wouldn't worry about that as it'll probably break soon anyway 🙂

3 ISOFIX seats in the back isn't possible with those cars I don't think. Two yes, not three. Three is a test for most cars, you're into SUV/MPV territory there

Civic is a good shout

Sounds like you're after quite a large car but have listed a load of superminis?

There’s just about room for a loaf of artisan bread width ways between two isofix seats in a Fabia.

Not a huge car needed as we have a big ol volvo v70 also

3 seats - actually mean 3 seat belts! Isofix on 2 of the seats

Skoda roomster SE or black edition with 1.2tsi 105bhp engine. Similar to a fabia for size but shit loads of room and more open visibility, particularly in the back. Also generally cheaper for the spec than a fabia.

Probably no use whatsoever but I had a Fabia estate as a hire car and it was absolutely huge in the back, I reckon Mondeo like carrying capacity.

You won't even get a child sat between 2 car seats in the back of those cars.

Why do you need 3 seats/seat belts?

Indeed - we could just about sit a skinny adult between car seats in the back of a Passat, but it was uncomfortable.

This. My 3 series won't fit an adult in the back between two child seats. A skinny kid, maybe.

Because sometimes their will be 3 people sat in the back of various sizes - different permutations - not JUST 2 seats plus!!

Roomster - errrr NO thanks as it looks fugly at best, Yeti is also griminal!

Ford Focus is the answer to the op's question. Traded in for a C-Max when the kids get a bit bigger, then a Grand C-max or similar small mpv when you require room for carrying three kids under 10.

Giulietta?

2x isofix in rear but you'd struggle, as with others, to get anyone other than a skinny kid win between. Room for 1 isofix + 2 teenagers though. It's not on everyone's list but generally better cabin/boot space than most alternatives (if space is a priority).

A better drive than many & the old (un)reliability issues seem a thing of the past - my last one (diesel) did 74k without issue & the current (petrol) is at 46k with only an external temp sensor packing up (a VW part!) to speak of.

Other than that , the Focus IMO.

The A1 and Polo are diddy inside though, especially compared to stuff like the Fabia.

genuine 3 seats in the back

As above - do we mean 3x Isofix/kiddy seat/booster seats? Do we mean a line of tween/teenagers? If so, none of those cars listed above will work.
Go for an MPV/Mini MPV like C-Max, Touran etc.

1-1.4

Again, I wouldn't focus on an engine size. Especially if you have 5 of you...

Fabia +1 The 1.2TSI is a lovely little engine, especially after its run in at about 5k
