Well, perhaps not brand new. I'll hopefully be in the position to replace our aging Renault Laguna coupe in a few months. We're looking at an SUV, as due to being a bit knackered physically, I find getting in and out much easier due to the increased height. I'm looking at around a 2014 plate, which will take care of the scariest bit of depreciation. I'm torn between the Volvo XC60 and the Jeep Cherokee. There doesn't seem to be that much difference on paper between the two, and wondered if anyone on here could offer any opinions or advice.

If I could afford to run one, I would!

I guess it depends on how you're going to use it.
The Jeep has an off road leaning. I wouldn't want the Vovlo to stray too far from the motorway or Waitrose carpark.

Isn't the Jeep made by Fiat?

Test drive both models then get a 2014 plate version of the one you like the most

You can afford to run one. If you can drop £20k on a car, spend £2k plus some extra petrol. People overestimate the extra costs of running a large engined car

I'd have the XC60 over almost anything else available tbh.

You can't really compare a Jeep to a Volvo quality wise. Volvo wins every time.

I have to say the new Jeeps are pretty ugly, not that they were ever attractive cars, but they look more like they're built in Korea rather than owned by Fiat; I mean, what happened to that so-called Italian flair and style?
