Not sure if this is a coincidence or not.
The last couple of weeks I have been getting progressively worse knee pain. Its contact only pain, not sore on use but if I touch it or kneel on it it really hurts, so much so that it wakes me up if I lie on that side in bed. Its on the outside of knee, kind of like a diagonal line across and down the outside of the knee cap. This has come on around the same time as getting a new bike and banging out quite a few miles. Its a gravel bike but using my old SPD's and old shoes (same cleats etc).
Could this be caused by incorrect saddle height or other position curiosity? Looks like I will need to go and see my physio if it carries on getting worse, but I'd rather avoid that as it gets quite spendy!

Try all the options first and get a bike fit if possible. I did all this with a road bike but it never quite fitted so I had to sell it. New road bike no issues even after the 80k sportive this Saturday.
I never did find out why my bike gave me such painful issues.
Mine was knee and back.
I reckon you will have got the fit basics sorted already, so I'm going to have a random stab at tendon or ligament inflammation triggered by different Q factor / stance width on the new bike compared.
Different width bottom bracket to previous?
So many different factors but if you are half decent at setting a bike up you should know what comfort should feel like.
I doubt you are going to be able to sort it out until you rest up, get the acute injury bit sorted and then see if its the bike or something else
Did you translate all your old seat and bar settings to the new bike?
