What's going on with new vinyl records. I've recently started listening to my vinyl collection again and am really enjoying it and have started buying some second hand and new. My original collection, mostly bought second hand, and some dating back to 1970 are all in perfect shape after being shuttled all over the country and then being stashed away for 20 years. BUT the new ones on thicker vinyl have been hit and miss at best:-
Psychedelic Pill, I had to send back twice to get a decent flatish copy.
2 Beatles reissues - warped.
Yesterday I got Peter Gabriel 4, so warped the edge is nearly touching the tone arm at one point - its getting sent back.
Am I being unlucky or are other people seeing the same ? Are Amazon storing albums on top of a radiator ?
I've had this issue from various retailers over the last 12 years. It seems hit and miss...

There's a certain irony in that; I bought a copy when it was first released in 1982, and took four copies back to the shop because the quality was so awful, which prompted me to buy the CD, my first, despite not actually owning a player.
Recorded it onto a Chrome cassette and played that until I could afford a CD player.
Never bought vinyl since.
