PSA - if your wife's car is leaking pisher fluid from behind the wheel arches, the offending pipe is located just behind the scuttle panel and whilst it doesn't look it, its very easy to remove with no tools. it will take roughly 5 minutes. i know it looks like its leaking behind both wheel arches, but that's simply gravity. you do not have to remove both wheel arches.
when removing the wheel arches from the car, be sure to have spare fixings as they will all break making refitting significantly harder than removal.
when removing the scuttle panel (its a tool free operation remember) don't drop a screwdriver into the engine compartment. it will drop all the way down into an inaccessible location necessitating the removal of the whole engine under-tray. be sure to have spare fixings for this task.
Er... Sounds fun.. reminiscent of changing a waterpump on the original mini. If you didn't come out with one scar you weren't doing it right..

The trick in all these cases is to make the blood sacrifice early on...

I sold a car with a pair of mini-molgrips (the tool, not my kids) lodged in the engine somewhere.
I sold a car with a socket extender bar lodged in the exhaust downpipe 😆
Cheers, Rich

I've always said the same about building PCs; none of the ones where I didn't cut myself on the case ever worked right

I once went to look at an old Cavalier I was interested in buying. Looked underneath and the handbrake cable (I think) was held together by a pair of mole grips. 😯
