Right! Holiday booked, no sun for us, just wind and rain. We are off to Nethy Bridge.

Do I take gravel or HT.

Any route suggestions?

Any family route (8 yr old) suggestions?

Speyside Way will take you to the Loch Garten track. Dip if you dare.

For a bigger day out, Ryvoan Pass to Glenmore, Aviemore, Boat of Garten and back. About 50km (I rode it today from Aviemore).

Heading NE out of Nethy on the Speyside Way you're on an old railway track, so pretty much flat all the way to Grantown and KJs Bothy Bakery.

Thanks for the tips. I actually took my hardtail because I figured it would work better for family cycling and have a knee injury.

Wow, it is bloody lovely round there. I went up to Ryvoan and down to Glenmore (in the sleet!). Really enjoyed cycling in the forest and my little wolf cub loved Wolftrax.  I need to move there now  (not joking)!

And wow again, that cafe was great.
