Was about to update the firmware on my Netgear home router, and found a release note that highlighted the withdrawal of support for, among other items, Time Machine backup. I do run a TM backup through there router, but it's to another module through a wired ethernet cable (rather than direct USB).
Does anyone know (before I upgrade and watch it fail, or leave it now lagging behind on security, or upgrade and find I have to rewind) if TM backups through ethernet will still be OK (even if USB is probably not)?
