I have a two months free trial of LoveFilm going a-begging if you want to give it a go and find out?

Can't comment on their streaming service, but I use their discs-by-post scheme and can't fault it.

View the lists of films online, there is very little worth watching.

The LoveFilm menu system is overcomplicated, slow and feels dated. Netflix is worse. Get the free 1 month trials see for yourself then head to block buster.

Neither, better choice on BT Vision or iTunes. Netflix is poor.

Viz Top Tips summed it up perfectly

"Re-live the thrill of browsing the DVD section in a charity shop by signing up for Netflix"

Didn't Blockbuster go bust? Or is it just all the stores near me that've vanished?

I'm on Love Film, quite happy with it really. Having the limited(ish) choice to stream gets me watching things I might not usually, and the postal service is great

I have lovefilm and the choice is poor. I browsed netflix to see if it was worth swapping and it was far far worse.

I have Lovefilm streaming on my xbox.

The problem isn't the lack of decent films, it's the absolutely useless menu system.

If you have a good look through all the genres and collections you will eventually find some cracking stuff, but it takes a lot of effort. The ratings system and descriptions are also useless, so you'll need IMDB/Rotten Tomatoes to hand. The international film selection is the real selling point for me. Watched "A Prophet" the other night, amazing!

I pay £4.99 a month, and it's worth it for the foreign films alone.

I have Netflix. The movie selection is "eclectic" but I like a lot of foreign films which there are plenty of, plus the documentary section is excellent. Virtually no recent releases but some old obscure stuff. The selection of TV stuff is good though. I've been watching

The US Office
Breaking Bad
It's Always Sunny In Philadelphia
Prison Break (terrible show but the wife likes it)
The Thick Of It

Loads more TV stuff on there that I've wanted to check out.

As above - Netflix is pretty poor. The documentaries and Breaking Bad are the only things I watch. And my kid's are partial to the old school Batman they have on there.

Did you know Sky Anytime+ is now available to all Sky customers even if they don't have Sky Broadband?

http://www.sky.com/shop/tv/anytime-plus/

I'd been using it through my xbox but now I've got the Sky box plugged straight into the router and it's available through the red button. Don't know if you need a Sky movies subscription to get the films though.

I have Lovefilm and it's not great going to cancel again as gave it another go from about 2 years ago, it had improved but not worth it. Netflix I joined the free trial and promptly cancelled it's awful might as well watch ITV4 as it has newer shows and films on.

And what Bob said.

Signed up to lovefilm instant and cancelled within the hour. Terrible selection and impossible to find your way round anyway.
Netflix is fun for the free month - great documentaries like gaslands - but not updated enough to keep on paying.

The choice offered on the Lovefilm streaming function is poor however the postal choices are excellent. As is the service.

I had a free month's trial of Netflix, glad I'm not paying for it! I have LoveFilm as part of my Bank account (Natwest) and cant fault it. 4 discs per month and 2hrs of download time. I'd not pay for either but LoveFilm is ok as it's included in my bank account fee.

I started in Lovefilm, but moved to netflix; the netflix content is far superior and seems to update much more frequently. Also its half the price

had lovefilm over the christmas break. basically watched everything we wanted for a month or two, then ran out of content, none more was added, so we quit.

POSTED 12 MINUTES AGO # REPORT-POST

I thought netflix was £5.99 PCM and love film £4.99? Also love film content is updated more often? But still the content on both is still not worth it.

I use LoveFilm as it's free as part of the DVD by post service so I just see the streaming as an extra bonus. I do watch it quite a lot but agree the selection isn't great, and the menu isn't brilliant.

Not got around to cancelling my netflix sub. It's good for older TV stuff and there's been a few movies worth watching but I was expecting more new content after launch and there's been little of interest.

With Lovefilm at least you can get DVDs and Blurays as well as the streaming.

If it's streaming only, they're kind of complimentary services - very little is licensed to both, it's all exclusivity deals on one or the other.

There's free trials of both though so try them out and see if you think they're worthwhile.

I find the menu system on Love Film to be absolutely fine.

I started off watching a fair bit via streaming and found some cracking gems that I would not have otherwise bothered with. However, the choice for "modern, blockbuster" type films to stream is not that great, so I would strongly recommend paying £9.99/month and getting the unlimited package that allows you to both stream and rent DVDs.

If you prefer to stay away from "blockbusters" and discover your own films, then there it a hell of a lot of content to stream and rent. Although most of the big, popular films are available to rent via DVD on there.

I am very happy with Love Film and would strongly recommend it.

I use Love Film and have always found it good. Quick postal service. Limited selection of movies online so far, but you can stream on PC, PS3, TV, etc...

Menus might not be the best on PS3, but if you're happy to set it up on PC, then searching through them couldn't be easier.

Overall you'll get way more choice than any Blockbuster video store (the selection for their postal service is massive), and Sky Movies (though I think they get exlusive rights to the latest movies) are past it.

Netflix has 15 Stories High and Mythbusters, and a zillion episodes of Spongebob Squarepants.

Who needs more than that.

Can you recommend any? We have a few weeks left of the free trial. If your new to world cinema you might be surprised at what's new to you, but most the content on there is quite old. There is a few MTB shorts (again prob seen before) and a couple of documentaries. The doc on computer games is so one sided it's laughable.

If anyone watches movies on ipad then "crackle" is worth a look for free film streaming. not a brilliant choice but its free and gets updated. I'm watching BAT*21 at the moment. Brilliant movie!

Had lovefilm for a year or so before cancelling, poor online selection and I couldn't be bothered with the postal method. Also my broadband wasn't amazing so streaming was patchy.

Was rather excited by the launch of Netflix as had heard good things about the US version, so signed up for the free trial. However it doesn't have much I want to watch (the Viz quote above is spot on) and the interface really is dire so will be cancelling. Anyone know why the choice is poor? Studio wrangles? Sky exclusivity on new stuff?

Think I'll make do with films on iTunes, now I have infinity the download times shouldn't be too bad.
