Was going to add this to the main Netflix thread but probably worth separating.
Now that JimmyJnr has full control of the telly, left to her own devices she likes stuff like Ninjago and PG manga-style cartoons, notably with "violence" and "threat". This doesn't sit well especially with Mum. She does like educational stuff too, and we've exhausted Cbeebies so what's good on Netflix etc which isn't going to fill her head with battle talk?
Following. What age? Daughter likes Ridley Jones, Cory Carson, Go Dog Go, Wiggles on Netflix (along with some utter dross).
Found with iPlayer / iPlayer kids it can get stuck on the age you originally set - and they’re moving to Netflix-style profiles on the main iPlayer app anyway. There’s quite an overlap between CBeebies and CBBC, we like Art Ninja and Horrible Histories.
She's 6.
Art Ninja is a favourite, again exhausted now. Tried horrible histories during lockdown and wasn't a fan but will try again! Thanks for suggestions.
On Netflix, The Deep and Turbo Fast (snails) have been OK, Magic School Bus good.
Edit:
along with some utter dross
Of which there is plenty.
Iplayer has a few full length scooby doo cartoon movies that my kids like
Some of the Story Bots stuff is aight. My little boy likes Molang but sounds like it might be a bit young for her.
Don't tell her about new Legends of Monkey!
Just tried Story Bots this morning to a resounding "meh"!
Think there'll be a fine line of age suitability for a few years yet.
Mine is 5, on Netflix she'll watch anything that's basically pink, but it's all sh!te (I'm not the target audience obvs!!)
She lapped up the floor is lava though for something a bit different.
She loves hotel Transylvania and will watch that on repeat.
Bluey is good.
Horrible histories and operation ouch also good but not Netflix.
Currently working our way through Reel Rock on redbull TV, she's loving that but the language can be a bit fruity so supervision required on that one!
My Little Pony. Well written and actually not completely infuriating. On the other hand I always hoped Dora would wander into the wrong coca plantation and just disappear. Teen Titans can be a bit much first thing and a few references went over her head, seems to be aimed a bit older.
Squirrelprincess has also moved on to Baking Impossible, that's a decent enough watch from the bits I've seen. Oh and I broke out my Invader Zim DVDs, she loved that too.
Oh, helps if I say she's 8 now but was watching the stuff above at 6.
Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Magic School Bus, Canimals, Shrek, are all I can think of right now. Gumball is the sort of cartoon that kids would find hilarious and adults horrifying, so maybe watch that on your own first and make a call...
Hilda. It's amazing. Caution: you may end up watching it with her too.
Ada twist
Hilda
Loud House is the latest. I can't work out if it's actually good but it's definitely not "violent".
Another vote for Hilda, discovered it today and loved the first couple of episodes.😀
Adventure Time, Steven Universe, Magic School Bus
Those are good. The Inbestigators is excellent. If you have Amazon Prime, Just Add Magic is decent. If you have Disney, Gravity Falls, Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, PJ Masks and the American Lab Rats.
Just posted this on the other thread, then saw this one.
Look up the latest Ardman film, Robin Robin It’s really good! Watched it for a second time a few days later and it was just as good, really dense and well put together. Lots of little details in each scene to notice on a rewatch. Richard E Grant’s magpie steals the show.
Been waiting for it for a while as friends did the music. Very worth the wait, and the music is excellent!
My 6 and 4 yo girls are addicted to my little pony.... And consequently my house is now full of even more plastic toys
Spirit is another they like.
Still love octonauts, Netflix has 'above and beyond'.
Hotel Transylvania was a winner.
Secret Life of pets,
Pets United
Think they are 'flix not prime. If you've prime then sing is excellent, good for daddy daughter sofa time.
