I'm looking for a decent film to watch this evening.

No over the top action movies, horrors or cheesy comedies. Quite like factual, thriller, crime, etc....

Any suggestions appreciated.

Operation Finale - hunting Nazi's post war, was nicely paced, not overly challenging but some good performances

I’ve gone Rain Man.

Cant believe it’s taken so long to get round to watching this film.

Mudbound and GBH are on the list.

Cheers guys 👍👌

The Ballad Of Buster Scruggs

Not quite the masterpiece that Fargo is but it's not far off.

Watched Dallas Buyers Club yesterday. Really really good, you have to admire Matthew McConaughy for being prepared to make himself that ill to play the role!

Calibre is hellish! Great low budget tense horror.

Wind river is decent.

Watched Miami Vice again recently. Really like it even though you need the subs on.

Michael Mann is a terrific film maker that isn't always noticeable first time arkund.

Grand Budapest hotel? I lasted 15 minutes, dreadful stuff. Disappointing, as I thought it looked right up my street when seeing the trailer at the cinema.

Didn't like GBH either. Quirk over narrative.

I think GBH is great, probably my favourite Wes Anderson (I'm not a massive fan usually).

Arrival highly recommended, also Annihilation. Both very smart, original sci-fi movies.

Hunt for the Wilderpeople if it’s still on there. In The Valley of Violence was okay, like a western John Wick. Might fall under action though.

Hateful Eight - normal Tarantino nonsense, but pretty entertaining

Don't Breathe - really good claustrophic drama

Looper - neat time travel thriller, normal time travel flaws, but entertaining.

Sadly when I last checked for Hunt for the Wilderpeople it had gone. Such a shame. Great film.
