I got my daughter's useless one renewed a few weeks ago. The online photo verification thing is lush. Whole process took from the 4th February to the 26th Feb. Would have been quicker if I'd managed to get the old passport to them straight away and had the photo verified on the 4th or 5th - think my mate did it around the 10th.

Tracking the delivery from Poland made me smirk - they've got rid of British couriers DX and now use DPD. So British passport printed by a French company in Poland delivered by a French courier. I cannot wait for the sunlit uplands.

Done mine this morning - was going to sort after Easter. Will be interesting to see why turnaround time is.

I'd imagine (maybe naively) the routine renewals don't involve much human (or UK based human) interaction so will continue to be processed from Poland or whatever. It's the new and complex applications that are stuffed.

mine's up next year. I don't particularly want Spanish citizenship but since my OH and son are on Spanish passorts I might as well look into it. Theirs take about 15 minutes from the local cop shop.

Just got two adult passports for my kids in January . Slightly more complex than average as they have a Dutch mother and it still only took less than 2 weeks from start to finish. Do it now as they  have 5 weeks before strikes

Blue though unfortunately.....

Seems to happen most years. Renewed my lapsed passport in February with 2-3 weeks service.

Just done mine and posted the old one in.

I'm not flying until July so (maybe naively) not too worried but who knows. I'm hoping if they really are getting them done in 2 weeks, it could be on its way back by the time the strike starts.

Realised mine expired end April only 2 weeks before a trip to Brussels. 90 days minimum validity needed. Applied for the 1 week service. Visited the office in Liverpool on a Friday. Passport arrived The following Tuesday. I’ll plan ahead next time. the experience at the office was very friendly and efficient.

Mine took a week just before Christmas, I went into the Post Office and used their over the counter service, cost a couple of quid more but I'd heard it was the quickest way to do it. They take your photo and fill out all the forms, it came quicker than others who had done it online themselves.

I've just had the "Your passport has been approved and is now being printed" message. Applied Friday so a week ago. The old passport received by them on Monday.

Fingers crossed there are no hiccups between now and getting it delivered - but impressed with how fast they processed it.
