So the missus has said that i need to do something with the kitchen. It looked like this when we purchased it 3 years ago.

Its now covered in kids drawings, paint flaking off etc and desperatly needs a revamp. Im going to start by getting a coat of primer on everything but have no idea about colours etc. The missus is worse than me and to top it off she thinks it would cost 800 quid tops for a complete new kitchen!
Now im stuck with the cabinets but the floor and walls can be changed. Any suggestions on how to try this out (like photoshop but i dont have it)
cheers
This helped me choose the colour scheme for my kitchen -

I'm sure there are more sophisticated ones around, but nice n basic, it helped.
thats ace cheers
Depends how far you want to go. The kitchen as pictured looks like the sort that gets put in rental properties or as a neutral job to sell the house. Its quite similar to how ours looked when we bought our house.I'd want to change quite a lot. I'd go for new surfaces, new doors and handles, new tiles, new floor and a coat of paint if time and budget allows. That's quite a lot of work but you will have virtually a new kitchen. Floor and worktops are the biggest jobs so skip them if you can live with what you have. The doors might be save-able depends on condition. The colour is actually OK and will go with a range of other, brighter colours. For a simple fix: new floor in grey/slate vinyl, new tiles in a bold single colour, repaint the white walls, take down the blind, replace the light fitting.
Get rid of the high-level cupboard that half covers the window. I couldn't live with that
Theres a Banana thats fallen out of the fruit bowl - that needs sorting.
Buy new cupboard doors rather than try to paint them. They always look shite unless you are some kind of god when it comes to preparation and technique.
New handles are pretty cheap from Ikea, leave the floor alone and just paint the walls. You won't get much else done for 800 quid.
Get her involved with the choosing etc, otherwise it will all be your fault. If all else fails, buy giant alphabetti spaghetti and stick 'LOVE' or 'HOME' on the wall with some pictures of your family which will definitely distract her if you've ballsed up the finish.
