You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Hi all,
Long story short, my phone has started getting these large ads popping up (takes up the whole screen) regardless of what app I am using and I can't find the source.
What I have done -
Anti virus scan which came back with nothing.
Tried adware remover and it again can't find anything.
Removed all apps I've put in the phone in the last week.
Removed any apps that have updated recently and turned off auto update.
Deleted all data stored in chrome.
I really dont want to do a factory reset as it'll take me hours to get my phone back to where to needs to be. Anyone else has this problem?
What phone is it and when was it last updated?
Enable developer mode and check running services
https://developer.android.com/studio/debug/dev-options
Then paste up a screenshot.
Factory reset. Assuming you've set it to back up to Google it won't take that long to set back up, I've done it a few times and it's well under a hour to reset.
It's a samsung s6 on android 7.0. I'll try developer mode and see what it brings up
You've possibly got an 'uninvited' app running in the background.
You should be fine with a factory reset - having 'upgraded' a few Samsung phones recently, all is there on the new phone after you log in to Google/Samsung.
I had this on my galaxy 5 . Did a cache partition and it cleared it.
Sadly the cache partition didnt work. Will factory reset tomorrow... just have to dig out all the details for my financial apps.
Thanks for the help everyone!
Before you reset it have you got FLV Player installed?
That was the culprit on mine when it was doing it last year.
