So my 25+ year old AJUNGILAK sleeping bag has finally disintegrated - very impressed with it considering it's had a full life!
So need a replacement ... requirements:
- campervan, use for 3 seasons sleeping in roof
- camping / motorbike trips (spring/summer) - last year was Brecon Beacons (didn't feel v summery), Europe with lots in the Alps
- general life with kids borrowing it etc.
- I feel the cold so want warm!
- ideally packs down smallish as useful on the motorbike
- rectangular, not mummy style
- with a zip, fullish length
- not down, synthetic as more washable I think
- ideally less than £100
Looking at Snugpack as seem good value and like the idea of British made. The Anguliak ones are v spendy!!
Any recos
Have a Buffalo 4 season thing, had it years and years, i use it when the grandson stays over. Pertex and pile, warm and toasty, very washable, British made, not sure of price any more.
Not rectangular, quite tight if you have broad shoulders, but very comfy. Comes in 2 parts, a 3 season outer with another inner which adds another sseason to give you a 4 season system.
Dunno if tnis helps, but I have one, use it regularly, and I'd buy another, especially if washing and drying is important to you.
*edit. Just realised I had a Snugpak for a while too. The one with little ripstop hexagons sewn woven into it. Good quality, packed up tiny too.
Buffalo 4 season looks super toasty but probably overkill for my needs, and ideally, a bit cheaper!
Just looked at the Buffalo now, dont remember spending anywhere near that on it! Great bit of kit though, just like the smocks.
I bought this a year or so back, don't remember spending as much as it is now, perhaps I got mine in a sale:

but it is cosy, packs down well, and I keep the lower zip open to poke my feet out cos they get a bit toasty down there!
cheers,
Keith

I've bought a Sierra Designs Zissou bag. It's much wider than most bags, and has some unique but great features such as foot flap and double opening.
They also do Frontcountry and Backcountry beds which follow a similar, but less lightweight, theme of space and comfort.
What about a quilt? As in, a proper outdoor quilt?
I have this https://www.snugpak.com/sleeping/sleeping-bags/nautilus
It’s my preferred bag so long as I don’t have to carry it anywhere, cheap, tad bulky but my other two bags are both PHD Designs so hardly fair.
Really like it, very comfy, warm enough for 3 season Van/car camping use.
And it’s cheap.
