4Extra's often very good as long as you accept it's the same 8 hour schedule 3 times a day (I just use iplayer to pick and choose which bits I listen to).

An iPod? Spotify? Radio is invariably dismal these days.

I've had enough of R4 for the time being, like R3 most of the time, but currently listening to TeamRockRadio - quite like the way they mix it up loads, but keep hearing the same new Slayer track - it's on again right now!

I'm already in pre-mourning for TeamRock 🙁

I can stream it in the lounge but we have DAB radios in kitchen, bathroom & garage and I'm not replacing all of them with internet radios just for this. It's all very disappointing.

Just about to post up teamrock, but will shortly be disappearing from dab. I'll have my raspberry pi internet radio kicking in soon.

Somehow I don't think these will appeal to someone moving from 6Music 😆

Rubbish

Well, seeing as both of those appear to prioritise 'rock', according to their names, then it isn't rubbish.
The whole reason I listen to 6 is the wide variety of music on offer; if all that was on offer was rock, I'd drop it pretty quickly, my iTunes library reflects 6music's playlist pretty closely, that's the way my music taste has been for the last forty-fifty years, and I've discovered more new music, of a wider variety, than pretty much any other source.
If only they'd get shot of Keaveny, I don't have too many issues with anyone else on 6.
Although, Nemone's electro obsession gets pretty wearing after a while.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, BFBS.

It's reassuringly amateur, with a [s]thinly[/s] thickly veiled pro-forces agenda, but I like it.

Great mix of genres, pleasant presenters, yet suitably sedated with a reminder of what some people are really doing, whilst some fret over the best bean to cup solution or argue over some driving tripe on here 🙂

Cheers for the tips. I too am falling out of love with Mary anne Hobbs and the dull dreary **** and his Hawaiian jingle.

Seems Apple are trying again to give you what you might want.

There's Spotify.

Though having said that I see no need to change from Radio 4 to anything else unless it's 'Thought for the Day' and 'The Morning Service'. On those occasions it's a quick click to Radio 6 or some podcast or other.

I'm on TeamRock now. Jeez its like something a middle age man who works in an aquarium shop would listen to (or the Comic book guy in the simpsons would play in his shop).

WWOZ is the best for me. However, considering the amount of people who listed Jazz as their least favourite music in another thread, I may be in a minority.
WWOZ does cover every aspect of Jazz, with the occasional live interview. It even offers free creole recipes. What more do you need in a station?

Devil's Night Radio is worth a pop. A nice wide range of all sorts of stuff, and no talking! It's like having the biggest ipod ever on shuffle, and very little in the way of dross.
