Looking for a bolt that can be operated from both sides of the gate, because of the way the gate opens I can't use a traditional style suffolk latch. The current tower bolt works but it's a pain in the ass for my wife having to lean over the gate to open it when carrying a basket of washing, or bringing me a cold beer.
A bolt like the one pictured below would be ideal but I'd rather not pay $100 plus taxes to get one from the USA and I can't find one in the UK
Any suggestions?
how about cutting a hand hole in the gate to reach through to the latch?
Was hoping for a slightly more aesthetically pleasing option than hacking a hole in the gate big enough to shove your hand through.
Ring or cottage latch?
Move the existing latch to the top of the gate?
Some sort of clever magnet combination?
I've always known those as "easy latches" and they are around £70! Be cheaper buying a 2nd wife to keep in the garden.
It is a neat option though.
Not sure where you buy your wives from but £70 seems a bargain....
Bolt through the gate, broom handle and a spring and bob's yer mother's....
😉

Plenty of part worn Philippino models kicking about....

It's not the purchase price that's the problem, it's the running costs 😉
