You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Not the most riveting topic, granted, but an organisation called Restore Trust is again campaigning to elect its members to the National Trust council. The issue is discussed here: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/article/2024/sep/07/the-national-trust-must-resist-the-group-that-wants-to-turn-grievances-into-policy
It's very easy to vote online: I selected the six recommended candidates.
Think I’ll join NT just to vote against restore trust!
Here’s an article that explores “Restore Trust” in a bit more detail, money from a Middle East think tank again. It’s not behind a paywall.

Bump - it’s that time of year again.
Don’t forget that you can use Quick Vote to accept the board’s recommendations and keep the headbangers out.
I assume the idiots are trying again to deny history?
I’d have to have a look at the full voting pack but you’d assume so.
I got the email to vote but wasn't going to bother. Having read this I'll have a more detailed look at both sides. I won't just do a quick vote.
I've just retrieved my email from the bin , never bothered to vote as I don't know any of these people from Adam . So if I don't want to spend ages assessing each candidate am I better off not voting at all ?

Depends how bothered you are about the Reform Trust people, but really this is the idea of Quick Vote as it accepts the recommendations of the board.
Who are the STW approved candidates?
So the board are the sensible ones who opposed the looney tunes?

Yes, and the stuff Reform Trust were against was anything woke, which IIRC included improved bike access as it always does.
There don’t seem to be any particularly contentious motions this year so I’m going to Quick Vote them and then wait and see if there are any STW approved candidates for the election.
