No real surprise in that statement (the magazine was founded in 1888) but what delights me about this is, despite the typical prevailing reaction in 2018 is it isn't a grovelling apology but (as you'd expect from such a publication) an objective analysis as to the forms it took, how and why it happened and what can be learned.
Grovelling apologies aren't befitting of such an insightful publication.
