I don't know why, but this has been nagging at me for weeks...

About 15 years ago I had to analyse the inner meaning of the lyrics during an English Class!

It's a song based around a tramp/baggar/blind man, and the fact that people walk on by as he is seemingly invisible. Possibly involving a business woman, perhaps also shoes. And New York?

Plenty of Googling has not found it...my memory is hazy and perhaps I'm not looking for the right terms...

I'm sure it was pretty popular at the time so an easy task for you lot 🙂

Another Day in Paradise by Phil Collins. Which is terrible.

Or Mr Wendal by Arrested Development. Which isn't terrible.

?

School must have been a very traumatic experience for you. That's just cruel.

Traumatic? I think we listened to it about 10 times, during which there was a huge amount of pausing and rewinding whilst we were split into groups to discuss the inner meaning of the lyrics 🙂

I'm now wondering if it was drama as I'm sure we had to do some practical things... Shudder

I don't think '...Paradise' is a bad song, it's just that coming from Phil Collins it just doesn't ring true.
Now, if Richard Thompson or Martin Carthy had written or sung it...
