Whats wrong with a name thats already shortened to a nickname? Its narrows things too much IMO- its too informal, how could a serious organisation take him seriously?

I think Mark is a top name. Although it seems alot of people were called Mark around the time I was born as well!

If you have a name like Ben everyone assumes it's short for something. So teachers always end up calling you Benjamin or Benedict or something, when it's not your name.

Incidentally, my name actually is Benjamin, and I like the fact I have a short and long form 🙂

As for Mark - I don't like names that are verbs 🙂

Jones - can be shorted to Joe as he sees fit but isn't Joseph.

I used to know a bloke called Jan, I'm assuming you are pronouncing that 'Yan' like he did? I think it's a great name, really cool.

On the Sue theme....

An androgynous name? Leslie/Lesley, Lindsay/Lyndsey, Kimberley, Rhys/Reese, etc

Went to school with a lad called Kim. He had a cool name. Had two teachers called Les. Les cool. Have a friend (male) called Lyndsey - cool name also.

Kyle

The name Kyle is a baby boy name. The name Kyle comes from the Gaelic origin. In Gaelic The meaning of the name Kyle is: A place-name referring to the narrows; a wood or a church.

Cool or what?
