Sausage dog
We have a five-month old miniature dachshund without a name. He's a great dog, fun and mischievous and full of character. But nothing seems to stick. I wanted to call him Ken cos it's funny and easy to shout but the missus isn't having any of it.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

Lincoln? Can shorten to Link.
I like Ken, and offer Keith in a similar vein.
Wiener
Wurst
Call him Baz.
Miniature dachshund; surely chipolata or cocktail. Plus, both have diminutive forms.
I'm sure Chipps would be delighted if you name your dog after him.
The shortened version of 2nd suggestion would be fun and easy to shout too!

Or Badger.... That's what dachshund means.... Badger dog.

Ken and Chip are great names. Avoid Alan, unfortunate reference to Alan the Tatler dachshund, who met an untimely end in Conde Nast’s revolving doors.
Dan!
Enters thread. Was disappoint.

I bloody love those dogs! There's one local to me called Digby - they dressed him up as a ghost for halloween and he looked absolutely hilarious.

After passing on some of the remarkable suggestions from you lot, the gf has acquiesced in an act of damage limitation. And so, he now has a name - 'Ken'.
So thanks!
Feel free to keep on. There's been some great ones. I especially liked 'TITAN', and DAN!
Tragic 'tail' about poor old Alan the Tatler dog btw.
If it too late to offer Schweinhund?
C'mon we've all watched enough war films, surely it's the best name for that little beserker
When he runs off you get to yell KENNETH! Also, thanks for naming him after my grandfather 👍🏼
Looks like a Norman to me. Or Bert.

What's the difference between a market trader and a male dachshund?
Well, one bawls out his wares on the street...

I can't believe no-one suggested "Shortie", or is that not allowed in these days of PC-gone-mad-ness?

I hear he’s fond of a German sausage
