I sold a wheelset on ebay, and was going to look at Royal Mail prices online after I had packed everything up for sending. Happened to see a myHermes ad and clicked on it, only to find that their rates were fantastic, and that I could either have the wheels picked up or sent via my local corner shop (about 100 metres away from my front door).

In any case, for 1/3 of what I expected to pay, I was able to send wheels that were delivered within two days, with maximum convenience.

Brilliant!

I use them a lot with my ebay shop and yep, mostly good.

Performance wise, they're often slower than claimed- like, maybe 1/3d of the time or more. And they do lose a lot, I've posted 250 items this year and they've lost 4, which is poor I think. But fairly no-fuss refunds in all those cases so that balances it a lot. (the claims process is slightly annoying, they make you go through a rigmarole of describing the parcel etc then instantly go "We can't find it" within minutes of getting the form- obviously no actual searching done so why ask?)

But still, acceptable imo and the customer service really is good when you use it. And I like the shop dropoff model.

Except a parcel that I'm waiting for, and yes THAT game has started, was picked up from the seller on Tuesday morning has been sat at their local depot since. It was supposed to be a 24 hour service, not 72+.

Never had a problem with them. I've never paid the extra £1 for signature as they seem to get them regardless.

@bigblackshed, I don't think they even do a 24 hour service? IIRC they "aim to deliver" within 2 days for shop dropoff or 3 days for courier.

into the bargain, the part-time Hermes guy round here is lovely - I know him from when was a deputy bank manager, he took retirement, got bored, now delivers Mon-Wed in local area. Seems a happy man.

The tracking email and delivery receipt from the seller both stated Wednesday delivery. It's still not moved from the depot. 👿

For bigger items anyone had any issues with the MyHermes requirement for parcel circumference plus length must be less than 225cm restriction?
