Well it’s either that or she’s keeping a fella as a bit on the side and hiding him somewhere in the house.
This wouldn’t be so bad except it’s the kind of stuff that smells really pungent, like Lynx but not Lynx; it has the distinct whiff of chest wig and muskrat and makes the bedroom and bathroom smell like cheap health club. She says it’s because that particular brand works for her where every other she’s tried doesn’t; they either deposit white flakes everywhere or they just don’t work.
I’ve going a bit crazy about this. Any advice?
Any advice?
This will be good...
Sure?
She sounds a right Brut.
they either deposit white flakes everywhere
That's not deodorant, it's anti-perspirant. (Not to be pedantic, but rather in terms of finding something that works there's two different products that do different things.)

Maybe it was impulse.
If only it was Lynx, the advice could be to stay by her side wearing the same type and then take your pick of the hoards of women that flock in the direction of both of you. 😉
Redress the balance. Start wearing delicate flowery and expensive scents.
I was wondering where I'd left it
cougar's sort of correct, but most AP's are also fragranced so technically are APDO's
DO's just cover up the smell, most AP's 'block' the sweat pores to prevent the sweat coming out (which isn't ideal obviously, but might be 'necessary')
Also: technically sweat doesn't really smell - it's the digestion products of the bacteria in your pits on sweat that smells.
So to the slightly unsavoury bit; when your wife says things don't work, if her problem specifically odour, or does she also / instead suffer from excessive sweating? Because the solution might be different for either.
In general - an antibacterial soap to keep the bacteria in check helps with the former (as does including peroxide in your wash to kill bacteria left on clothes, eg: Vanish Oxi-action, and also line drying in the sunshine, UV also controls them)
To prevent sweating, you need to try a few types and you might want to see a pharmacist for some specialist ones.
I'm a chemist that worked in and around Personal care / detergents for many years so know a bit; I also have a sweaty / smelly wife 😉 - and finally it was the menopause that almost switched it off overnight. Although sadly as my daughter is going through the change at the other end, she's now inherited the genetics or so it seems.
It's so you don't notice any difference when she comes home late after a night out with the 'girls' smelling of Lynx
If it's deodorant rather than anti perspirant then has she tried this
It's stronger than most and is a cream so shouldn't flake. The only downside is that it's pretty expensive for what it is, normally £4-£5 per stick but that's got to be worth it given the alternative is to smell like an adolescent boy on date night.
If this doesn't work then a quick word with your local pharmacist will sort her out with something stronger which will likely be unscented so could be used in conjunction with a lovely delicate lady smell body spray.

FTFY.
You're not alone, mrs MikeG had to use mine when hers had run out and reckoned it worked much better and left less powder on her clothes than the womens version (both Dove btw)
my wife liked the smell of one of the Acqua di Gio Eau de Toilette so uses that occasionally... I just rolled with it but I had to switch to something else.
Plus it smells better than some of that floral/rose crap that floats around sometimes.
The Dove women's one is a bit powdery, to be honest. The Sure one is better.
Erm - there seems to be a big thing with women in the gay friendly pubs of Norwich wearing Lynx. Just saying... 😉
Rachel
In "Secret Diary of a Call Girl" the protagonist wrote how she only wears men's deodorant so not to leave the scent of a women in her clients.
Just saying.

there's a bar in Heb that's eye wateringly bad for this... 😆 I thought it was the local underage mob!!
Hmmm my wife uses my deodorant regualarly, claiming it smells better (it does).
I wasn't concerned in the slightest, but after P_Jay's post...
I was wondering where I'd left it
Don't worry it seems his wife hasn't suspected anything.
If Madame started using men's deodorant I'd hire a private detective.

Ooof!
Just get her to open a window while at work to avoid offending colleagues
(Potentially amusing if I've correctly remembered her occupation)

Airline Pilot?
Start wearing delicate flowery and expensive scents.
Start....?

Bring it on! 😀 I will if you will.
I was wondering where I'd left it
Left what exactly?
Airline Pilot?
Yeah, opening windows at 40,000ft doesn't tend to go down to well.....
Try an alum stick?
Or maybe just use a roll on rather than a spray?
Ball or aerosol?
Doubt it's Lynx... might be Cougar though.
His justification for her new smell is far too convenient, don't you think?
Unlikely. I've never even met his wife.
Ball or aerosol?
Am I the only one who misread this as 'ball or anusol'?
Yeah, opening windows at 40,000ft doesn't tend to go down to well.....
I thought that was exactly what happened.
Am I the only one who misread this as 'ball or anusol'?

I just thought that we'd already established it was for her armpits.
Damn, Charlie set it up but cfh beat me to the punchline.
Aerosol is prob best, last stick deodorant i used was very difficult to apply
Put some perfume on yourself.
You're both attract each other or others of the same sex.
Lynx is chavtastic.
She says it’s because that particular brand works for her where every other she’s tried doesn’t
