I like tools, especially really clever tools. I also love tools that look great, balancing form and function. While I like buying tools I also love looking at tools. My question, what magazine (if any) is available for someone like me to fulfill their needs?
The Axminster Tools Catalogue.
There's hours and hours of smallest room reading in there.
My name is wrecker. I too like tools. When I actually needed them for a living, I couldn't afford nice ones. Now I can and it makes me happy 😀
my name is Gonzy....i AM a tool!! 😆
I am only slightly ashamed to admit that I spent about 3 hours browsing the Axminster tools website one evening in the Christmas holidays...
I also enjoyed this website: http://hackneytools.com/
I got very excited about my new rim-brake toeing in tool this week.
When I had the chance to use it, it was shite 🙁
APF
I think they are stopping doing a printed Axminster catalogue which a real shame.

Nooooooo!
what is your view on the 5.5mm allen key?
I believe it to be the most hateful tool in the world. it is ALWAYS there when you're looking for a 5mm, which is nowhere to be seen. even if you think you've thrown it in the bin, it's still there.
no-one can love a tool like that.
PSST, anyone want to buy an Axminster BV30M lathe? You know you want it you dirty tool addicts..
Am upgrading 😀
Oooh - you got me excited there LoCo but I think it is a bit too big for the space I don't have available... 🙁
Yes it's a reasonable size, needs a hoist to lift it on & off it's stand.
Axminster tools have just opened a shop near me in Cardiff.
My wife often says, when I'm in the man cave for hours on end she's married to a tool, personally I think she's being very unfair
So chaps as well as owning said tools do you take pride in having them on a white tool board hung up in neat lines with a outline round them?? or have them in a shiny tool box?
Surely the Festool catalogue is the only magazine you need...

Just proudly display your systainers!
Primetools.co.uk and toolshack are two of my faves. Debating a Stahlwille slide hammer/puller set at present.
Tool storage?

4 drawers of facom tools in modules, two drawers of Unior bike tools (awaiting shadowboard foam insert) and big stuff in the bottom.
footflaps - "No tools left in this vehicle overnight" ?
Axminster opened a shiny new branch near me last year. I can't go back in there for fear of coming with crippling tool envy, yet still in debt.
It's next door to a Dunelm, which my friend refers to as "the girlfriend creche."
Just spent ages looking for one. I found 187 5mm keys, but no 5.5, which I probably put in A Safe Place for when I needed it.what is your view on the 5.5mm allen key?
I love Torx keys, they give me a sense of moral superiority whenever I use one. Hey, I'm an engineer, not assembling some IKEA furniture!
I go on an annual Axminster tools pilgrimage ever year. Favourite place is auctions with tools.

I do wonder where they park it, same goes for the local SnapOn rep and his van!
wrecker Now were talking Pullers Oh Err missus, Sykes & Pickavant Hydraulic pullers & my fave is a SKF Induction bearing heater, oh the joy of bearings simply sliding down shafts.
Sykes & Pickavant
Droooooool 😮

But that sinking feeling when you've got a Torx key in your hand, and 6 bolts of a disc rotor waiting - and you know at least one is going to get rounded off 🙁
My extra long 5mm T-handle allen key, that's my fav.
8 bike tools you never knew you needed
how many? I have 5/8, although i maintain that the disc brake tool is not needed - I actually have individual tools not a multi tool...
8/8 and you are definitely a toolholic
