I know some of you on here know me via rides or just talking rubbish usualy about weird bikes so I thought it's worth a punt.

But let’s get this straight right from the start. I hate it when people say, “Will you sponsor me?” and I know times are tight for most of us at the moment, but if you can help please do so and if you can't it doesn't matter I still love you.

So, as I’ve never done any fund raising for charity in my 44 years on this Earth I want to do a little bit before I shuffle off this mortal coil.

I’d like to do this for the Alzheimer's Society a disease that took my Mother from me back in November 2009 but ruined her life 8 years before she died.
It’s an awful disease I don’t wish on anybody.

But like my bikes I want to do this charity thing a little bit differently and focus this year’s riding towards this Septembers Isle of Man End2End challenge. I'll be doing it on my heavy Fat Bike not my race Niner bike as before.

For those who have supported/sponsored me I’d like to give a little something back from me directly and offer you a chance to win your money back and more (£50 from my own pocket) plus some goddies from work after I've scrounged them off my boss at Hozelock.

If you would like to sponser me please do so in multiples of £5, as each fiver will buy you a time slot in this form, https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AoCkTTsMR4Y-dHVZRFNaR0pmRnVlOHZnX0pQUkhCd3c#gid=0

so it's first come first served.

Full info and help for you to chose a winning time slot on the form can be found here in the full story part https://www.justgiving.com/JohnClimber

Please remember to chose your time slot (15minutes apart from your other choices - it's the only rule) and post up your time slots on the Just Giving site once you've made your donation, good luck.
Once donated please email me (in profile) your email address or mobile number, so if you win I can send you your prizes.

As soon as all the time slots are sold I'll stop nagging you about it

Thanks in advance, you're all great.

Hey John.

I'm not going to lie - I HATE fat bikes, but, I like your style and admire your efforts to raise money for a very worthwhile charity, as such drop me a mail - I'll dig out some bits and pieces courtesy of Silverfish that can go into a freebie prize pot.
I'm afraid it won't be anything too exciting but it should all help.

Cheers richie@silverfish-uk.com

Hi John. My mother suffered a similar lingering living death. Alzheimer's is horrendous when you're 80, but when you are 60 it is quite possibly the most evil disease I know. Good on you for doing this, when the inexplicable dustyness in here has settled I will be buying a time slot or two.

Only I can edit the form, please email me your numbered time slots.

And if I was training I wouldn't sell many higher timed time slots would I, or am I training????

Don't forget to avoid block booking please keep your time slots 15 minutes apart, but for you Lactic with your donation I'll cut that down to 7-8 minutes apart.

Thanks again to you all

After a chat on our club forum and the thought that time slots of 15 minutes apart are too far apart I've made the following rule change.

So rule 1a is now - If anyone donates £20 (or more) their 4 (or more) time slots can be no closer than 7 miunutes apart.

Thanks again for your generosity as I know how tight things are.

£195 in the first day is great, time slots are still available and a couple of begging letters for bike freebies for the winners pot have gone out.

Hey John

Just to let you know I've bunged a few prizes out the door today for you.
Sad to say there are no Yeti frames coming but there are a few t-shirts, waterbottles, socks and a few RF delights.

Hope it all helps to raise some cash.

Cheers

Richie

RIGHT YOU LOT PAY ATTENTION

This is the prize pot for guessing the correct time I cross the line in Septembers Isle of Man End2End on my heavy Fat Bike.
Don't forget it's a 1 in 200 chance for a Fiver or 1 in 100 for a Tenner or a 1 in 50 chance for a Twenty, hell you can do the maths on the bigger donations.

First up £50 of my own cash (don't tell the wife)
[img] [/img]

Then there's the 30m Hozelock Auto Reel, like this one but new and in a box - Value £100
[img] [/img]

Don't worry if you live down south the event isn't until September so the ban should be lifted by then

A selection of new Hozelock hose guns, to use or give away as gifts - Value £15, £20 & £30
[img] [/img]

Richie From Silverfish is adding
A few t-shirts
Waterbottles
Socks
and a few RF delights (I've no idea what they are but) thanks Richie

From Chipps himself at Single Track Magazine - Value £80
http://singletrackmag.com/
2 pairs of SingleTrack Socks,
A SingleTrack Tee Shirt plus
A full Years Subscription to the best Mountain Biking magazine in the world

From Steve at PB Fit in St Helens http://www.pbfitness.co.uk/
8 one hour 1 to 1 sessions with a persoanl traininer and a Tee Shirt - Value £65
[img] [/img]

If you live too far away the next nearest guess in front of your's wins this prize but you get the Tee Shirt

And finally (for now) in a Generation Game flash back (Ask your Mum) a Fondue Set - Value to me getting rid of this unwanted gift Priceless
[img] [/img]

More to be added (I hope)

Thats a total of £360 and what Silverfish send to me all for a Fiver it must be worth a shot

So, come on it's hard work getting these prizes for you, it's not that hard to click on this
https://www.justgiving.com/JohnClimber and give a Fiver or so, Please

Once all time slots are sold I'll stop nagging.......I promise

Time slot availability here https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AoCkTTsMR4Y-dHVZRFNaR0pmRnVlOHZnX0pQUkhCd3c#gid=0

The only rule to avoid block booking is
Rule 1 - Remember to chose your time slot (15minutes apart from your other choices)
Rule 1a - If anyone donates £20+ their time slots can be no closer than 7 miunutes apart

A quick bump, £400 pounds worth of cycling (sort of) freebies above to be won if you sponsor me. All money goes to the Alzheimer's Society.

Thanks to Chipps from here and Richie from Silverfish for the goodies as well.

A couple more begging emails have gone out, so possibly more prices for the winner to win.

Thanks for looking and don't forget to let me know your time slots you want to "buy"

If you are reading this and you've not given yet (a pox on you*) you've no chance of winning any of the goodies (above), several other begging emails went out last night for goodies.

Make sure you buy a couple or four slots before all the good slots have gone.

Please stop me going on about it, it's got to be worth a tenner just to shut me up and to stop me bumping this up hasn't it?

Nearly halfway to the total, so be quick.

*If you can't afford it or don't agree with what the Alzheimer's Society do I remove the pox on you 😉

Please get me to £600 and I'll stop nagging until payday.

£400 worth of goddies to be had and a very worthwhile cause.

Alzheimer's is a bitch of a way to die, if you know anyone who's had it you'll know how bad it is for the last few years of peoples lives.
Please give to try and stop it and for every Fiver you've a 1 in 200 chance of getting your money and a load more stuff back.

I've never asked for anything before

Please help............

The list of goodies grows.

From Richie at Silverfish (delivered today)
1 x Raceface oversized carbon riser bars
4 x Tee shirts
1 x Fluresent Socks
1 x Waterbottle
1 x Beer Koozie
1 x 4oz Extreme Lube
Loads of stickers, too much for the winner to use, so i'll had them out in Scotland or on clun rides

From Chipps at Singletrack (collected today)
1 x ST Buff
1 x ST red Tee Shirt
1 x ST socks
1 x 12 month subscription

So keep your guesses and cash coming for the chance to win this lot and the rest of the stuff including 8 x 1 hours sessions with a personal training in St Helens, another tee shirt, £100 hose reel cart, 3 x Hose guns and £50 of my own cash.

I hope the winner lives nearby as I don't fancy posting it all out 😉

The value of the prize pot keep on going up, these are the bars I was sent from Richie at Silverfish

http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Race-Face-Next-XC-3-4-Riser-Carbon-MTB-Handlebar_32346.htm?utm_source=Google&utm_medium=Product_Search&utm_campaign=Froogle02

(No good for me as they are far too normal)

There value is £109
added to the SRR of the other goodies from Silverfish takes their contribution to £216.55 if you were to buy them off the shelf.

Added to the other prizes from Singletrack Magazine, PB Fitness, Myself and Hozelock this adds up to a whopping £575.54 worth of prizes.

All for just a Fiver a go and all to go to one person, or the nearst time slot if the prizes are unsuitable, ie not a bike rider or lives too far from the personal trainer.

Roll up roll up, roll up
1 in 200 chance of winning with a Fiver
1 in 100 chance of winning with a tenner
1 in 50 chance of winning with a Twenty

And it's only 1 in 56.6 of winning a Tenner on the lotter and that's with a pound.

I'll shut up now (until payday), or unless anything else gets donated to the prize pot

Rule 1 - Remember to chose your time slot (15minutes apart from your other choices)
Rule 1a - If anyone donates £20+ their time slots can be no closer than 7 miunutes apart

[img] [/img]
30m Auto rewind hose reel (£99.99)
4 Michelin cycling tops* - 3 x large 1 x XL (Large modeled below), a Michelin Tee shirt (L) and a Michelin mug

[img] [/img]
[img] [/img]
*The winner gets one shirt the 2 nearest guesses get the other 4 shirts

Friday, weekend bump

46 slots still to sell.

Quick summary.

Best time before on my race bike 3hr 36mins.
I'm selling my finishing time slots at a fiver a go
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AoCkTTsMR4Y-dHVZRFNaR0pmRnVlOHZnX0pQUkhCd3c#gid=0

[i]Rule 1 - Remember to chose your time slot (15minutes apart from your other choices)

The one who guesses my finishing time correctly will win the £600+ worth of mtb and other goodies (shown above)

I’m doing this for the Alzheimer's Society a disease that took my Mum from me back in November 2009 but ruined her life 8 years before she died.
It’s an awful disease I don’t wish on anybody.

Couple of slots paid for on justgiving.
Great effort - I reckon the prize pot is too generous and you could split/auction some for extra funds.

Many thanks for those of you who donated to my Just Giving Page and to Chipps of Singletrack and Richie of SilverfishUK for donating lots of prizes to the person who has picked my finishing time once I've cross the finish line on my fat bike at this years Isle of Man End2End in September.

Just to let you know I've just sold the last of my 200 time slots for a fiver each, plus more from others who have donated but did not want to enter into the prize draw I've raised £1150 and with another £50 or so still to come in for a mini Auction that's still going on.

Once again many thanks and if you're names on the list I wish you luck and I'll be in touch after the race in September.

Thanks again

The nagging stops here.

But please feel free to carry on donating but there are no prizes left to win. www.justgiving.com/johnclimber

A very big thanks to all that donated, to Chipps for his prizes and to Richie from Silver fish for his prizes.

I finished yesterdays race in 59th place in a time of 4hrs 10mins 38secs
http://www.manxtimingsolutions.com/DynamicResults/OverallType2.aspx

And the winner of the prize pot is Sean - SilverScoob who I've already been in touch with and will present him his prizes on Thursday evening this week

Once again thanks to you all helping me smash my target of £1000 by £241.20 and for claiming gift aid. Donations are still accepted but there is nothing for you to win as I'm having a rest now.

John - if you look @ MPQ Media on Facebook there's a good photo of you @ the finish. You were by our flock of Loaghtans @ the start - look for number 205 of 335...

Any chance you can nick them and pop them on here or email me them via my address in my profile?
