You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
IIRC we did this a few years ago but the original video got taken down.
Work safe … how to service a TV transmitter. If the video below doesn't work, [url=

Don't think I'd get out of the lift.
OMG bro.
That's bonkers. I'm feeling sick after that!!
Bloody Hell !! i feel sick
Not a bloody chance. I've done some climbing but there's no chance you'd get me up there. I'd like down climbing that even less though!!
I'm feeling sick after that!!
This^
What could possibly go wrong 😯
My god, freeclimbing that? 😯
You'd need balls the size of spacehoppers, I think I'd insist on a parachute!
I climbed a 30ft tree at the weekend, using a rope, that was almost out of my comfort zone. That vid is mental!
I'd want a bloody good parachute!
Imagine getting to the top and then realising you had left a vital tool in the van!
Or would it be worse getting to the top and then needing to take a dump?
I'd imagine that taking a dump off that would almost make the climb up worthwhile.
That was rather uncomfortable viewing.
To clip-in at the very top............he let's go with both hands 😯
I got sweat on just watching it. At the end before he attached his hook hrs not actually holding on TO ANYTHING 😯
I watched some of that vid a few years ago before having to switch it off. Just seeing the embedded image made me feel sick. Reading your posts is making my bladder turn over out of panic.
The older I get the worse my fear of heights is getting. I struggle to even watch anything on TV with a perilous height on show. Ripper Street this evening made me cover my eyes.
The older I get the worse my fear of heights is getting
Same here--wonder why that happens?
Another day at the office here.
@ jamborgie....don't forget the toilet-paper
I am afraid of heights, I am not sure why I watched this !
@bigblackshed and @busydog - yup me too, fear is quite a lot worse than when I was younger.
How ever much they get paid, it's nowhere near enough.
I reckon I'd find that (easy secure climbing at bonkers heights) much easier than hanging off some tiny holds with failing strength a long way above a dodgy piece of gear on a 50m crag. I'm not likely to fall off when I've got steel bars to hold onto; but I am if it's only a tiny finger hold.
Sure.
Physically, it's an easy climb, relatively speaking (assuming you're fit enough to spend ten minutes climbing ladders without stopping).
Mentally, however, that's a special talent. I'm a rock climber for fun and I've had Elvis Leg thirty feet up.
The first time I saw this posted It didn't have the commentary, I'm think that there was some backlash against the guys doing the climbing as they were not using industry standard methods re clipping on etc (despite what the VoiceOver says).
Thing I've found is, above 50ft or so, height doesn't matter - you're dead if you fall so it doesn't matter how high you are. What matters is how secure you feel. I've felt much safer climbing big cranes at night than I did fixing the roof of my single-storey shop.
No, cannot watch, makes me feel quite .... odd .... .?
Looks ok to me, there's a lot of people who would love a job like that.
Do they use a parachute to get off appears easiest way of getting down.
Imagine building it, that would have been more interesting!
Well I've done go ape at Grizedale so that antennae would be a walk in the park......
I never tire of watching that vid.
Damned impressive, very calm and controlled. I'd be a terrified wreck.
The Alex Honnold short film is worth a watch. Especially for Molgrips.
There is not enough money in the world that would get me up that.
Clipping on to a rung that your safety line can just slip off the end of ? The HSE would be all over that in this country surely?
less than half the height but still scary 🙂
