You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
After many years lurking in sheds i finally have my 1960 BSA back road worthy.

There are no internals left in the silencer. Like most things of its age it dribbles a bit of nasty liqui8ds. It does 40mpg at best and all the breathers just vent into the air.
BrraaaAAAAP
Ooops
😜😇
Bsa350?
A 10. 650 twin.
Very nice indeed, now head out for a run and kill baby robins.
😉
Double thumbs up 👍👍
I wondered what that bloody noise was 🤫
Looks gorgeous.
If I had a bike, it would be something like that....smell of unburnt hydrocarbons and all...
If anyones interested - the spec:
1960 BSA A 10. Its a bitsa tho
Engine is fully blueprinted and built to super rocket spec. Big valve alloy head, high comp pistons. high lift cam, 2:1 exhaust
Fork is from a late 70s Honda, Front hub from a rocket 3
Alternator and all modern electrics. Magneto ignition
18 inch rims. Avon roadrunner replica tyres with modern compounds
I built this in the 80s and rode it a lot until 20 odd years ago. It bears the scars of its life 🙂
So what you're saying is you're a roadie?
I recall an A10 chop you couuld hear miles away after closing time
I only had a C15 briefly when it packed up, always wanted a bonnie but the only one i rode seized up on a test ride, so well done for getting one back on the road
Do you have a similarly vintage helmet to don when riding it ? 🤪😁
Is that a *gasps* drum brake on the front?
^^ Front and rear by the looks. They're not that bad in normal use if they're set up properly. Heavy use does cause them to 'fade' when they get hot, which is a bit of a bum clencher!
Yup - front and rear drums - the front is upgraded and is a big 2 twin leading shoe one from a 70s trident - so should be OKish. Not too bad from what I remember if you heave on the levers.
Nods with seal of approval.

Pic not working.

Fixed now, another 1970 BSA A10 Super Rocket - owned by a neighbours partner 👍
Nice Bsa - rather shinier than mine 🙂
Don't ride it much. The unburned fuel I can smell just by looking at the pictures is a far more potent greenhouse gas than the CO2 it would have created, also much worse for air quality!
Presumably you wear a helmet on this 🤭
@dickyboy - when I lived near Princes Risborough, the Plough was where our rides ended on a cheeky footpath that spat you out to the car park. It looks exactly the same as it did over 15 years ago 🙂 Nice old bikes tho.
Anyway as you were. Â Do like an old British Bike. My dad had a shed full of old Ariels (sp?) most of which never ran. He used to tell me how his first bike (Harley I think) had a foot clutch!
modern flip front full face helmet
Not a biker, but I know a sweet bike when I see one! 👌🏻🎩
is it Putolined ?
is it Putolined ?
I imagine scotoiled.
Is that a Trophy?
where did they all go?
It was a Sprint - took the fairing off and created a Trident-a-like, was far too easy to not be aware of speed with the fairing. 70 feels like 70 now.
Ah yes the sprint.
remember them. Solid bikes.
tempted to get back into it one day
going to have to be an old thumper
Helped fix an A10 years ago. Took two of us to get it on bike trailer with no engine in!
I remember hand grinding valves and seats.
looks like it damages the environment, puts extra stress on the NHS and is just the sort of thing Farage would like.
